High Gear

I have a 2004 ranger that makes a grinding sound when you put it in high gear and it will not move. It acts like the transmission is not engaging. Reverse, Nutural, and low work fine. It is a 4x4 model. Is this a common problem?

My uncle has a 2002 or 2003 2x4 and his does the same thing.

Any help would be great

Try shifting it into high at the transmission. It may be that you cable linkage is not functioning properly
Chip, I don't know anything about your problem but others will chime in but welcome to PRC.

I will also bet cable is out of adjustment.
Dealer took a look at it and it is trashed. The showed me the gears inside, not good. The transmission got water in it somehow, and killed it.

Anyways I bought a new trany and istalled it tonight. Back like new
