Greetings!! Found y'all via the web, and am hoping to glean some knowledge (and a LOT of help) as I attempt to breath life into a 2000 Polaris Ranger 6x6 - I'll find the appropriate place for it and have at it shortly.....lol
About me....well, I'm an old Texas guy that's semi-retired. Spent 40 years in the water purification industry, doing everything from WFI (Water for Injection) and ultrapure water systems, to consulting with NASA (plus providing their lab water systems). I was blessed to be in an industry I enjoyed, but I finally decided it was time for "me", so I just packed it up one day and walked out.
In my "other life", I'm a life-long firearms lover - especially of 1911's. I have what many consider to be one of the most complete collection of Randall 1911 .45's outside of a museum. It was an obsession that took me over 32 years to finally complete, but I ended up with all 12 of their models (that they made more than 100 of), including the 3 "Southpaw" (left-handed) models. All in all, I've got 77 1911's in my collection, plus the usual (for Texas) assortment of long guns and some VERY short (and 100% legal) short shotguns.
I'm VERY active in the 2nd Amendment issues here in Texas, and serve as a state officer of the Texas State Rifle Association.
Retirement can be boring, so I expanded a side business I had for many years - residential water treatment - and keep busy enough with THAT to keep me out of trouble. I'll keep messing with it for a few more years, and ultimately turn it over to my oldest son to run and own.
I also run a small website - Texas Shooting Sports | YOUR home for straight talk about all things gun[/url] - anyone familiar with FB knows that it's played havoc with the internet forums, but I've personally found there's just too many BS artists on FB, so while I AM on FB, I prefer to do my "real" discussions on forums where folks can get to know each other better.
That's about it......thanks in advance for letting me pick your brains!!
