If you had to chose one option. UPDATED

In the hopefully near future I'll be looking at purchasing a 900 Ranger Crew. It will be used for hunting, yard work and just cruising around the farm with.

My question is, with so many options and accessories, what is in your opinion, a must need option? I realize, each owner has their specific uses for their machines, thus needing different accessories.

I've been thoroughly reading through many of the forum threads and I am overwhelmed. From roofs, doors, axles, clutches, lights, dual batteries, A-arms, tires, wheels, winches and many more. I'm beginning to wonder if this unit will even be able to run straight from the dealer without adding something? :smile-new:

What is one accessory you wouldn't go without?

Thanks,
Mark

I drove my first Ranger hard, and it didn't have EPS. I never broke a finger or wrist. I never thought they were that hard to turn. I do have EPS on my RZR, but only because its how that model came.
I think a winch on a Ranger is pretty high on the list.

Depends on what your priory might be. Things I would consider after a cab, windshield, doors, better tires along with EPS would be the Duraclutch. A Very nice upgrade over the OEM clutch set up and it offers wonderful engine breaking on steep grades or mountain trails. Actually there is no limit where to go next with upgrades :fat: The sliders and fill in plates that Marty is showing on his web site to protect the floor board and side rail areas is a must have!

A roof and winch.I also really enjoy my interior lights. I purchased an adhesive backed led strip from the parts store and wired it to a rocker switch I purchased off of eBay. If you do much night ridding its a very nice add on.

If you go with a windshield get the glass this way if you want/need a wiper your not worried about scratching the windshield. Talking from experience.

EPS is overrated IMO. I thought about it but it wasn't worth the $1000 to me. It is nice, but not a must have, my wife drives ours just fine without it also.
I thought the same thing, until I owned one with EPS. Now I'll never have another machine without it.

My first accessory was Tires. Upgraded to 28's that wouldn't rub too much, and moved shocks out and cranked them up a little to gain a little clearance over factory. It's done everything we've wanted it to do. A roof would be nice, but I've found that a tarp or poncho duct taped to the roll cage is sufficient when the need arises during a rain storm or something. My next addition was snorkels because I didn't want to be stuck in a hole not able to move because the belt exhaust locations suck. Winch is next on list. But a lot of these items are really just convenience items. Let your riding determine what the NEEDs are.

All great ideas.

I've read where dust is a huge issue within the seating area. Are full windshields recommended along with full rear? I can see where one might pull dust in through a vacuum with only front windshield

My want list is short but expensive.
