hey guys ,,,im planning on installing a fuse box under the hood for more accessories but I only want power when the key is on ,,is it safe to install a big relay to power up the fuse box??? mabe 70 or 80 amp relay
I'll get some pics when I can- I got a blue sea marine 85 amp solenoid and ran 6 ga wire to that from my 2nd battery. The solenoid is activated by a keyed hot source so it's only hot when key is on - the other side of the solenoid is ran to my 12 position blue sea fuse block
I also have a 100 amp circuit breaker between the battery and solenoid.
Make sure you get a solenoid rated for continuous duty not intermittent duty
