I just picked up a used 2005 ranger 500 cc carb LE with 115 hours, it has a HD Glacier plow and a 4,000 lb Warn winch. I had to truck 350 miles yesterday to get it and it was well worth it. I was surprised to find out it was an LE with chrome rims and 26" tires. I just hope the carb is ok, that was my big concern especially in the winter plowing snow (and we get lots). I live in ATV heaven, its about time I got one. I have 75 acres in the UP of Michigan within a mile of thousands of acres of state land. Being new here how do you insert images? FAQ didn't seem to help.

I have a Photobucket account. If you have one of those right click on the IMG line and hit COPY. Then come back to this site as you are posting then right click when you are ready to post pic and hit PASTE.

Welcome Ed,
A carb Ranger is what I also have and they work just fine in winter. I'm sure all carb machines are just a little different but mine starts without a choke unless it's below zero. I usually start mine without choking and then add a little to keep the revs up. Never ever choke it in warm weather unless it won't start.
BTW You'll love the Ranger

Thanks all for the warm welcome. Hey Ya to all the Yoopers!

I was curious what any thoughts were on the price I paid, I thought it was a good deal at $7000. It is in really good condition with just minor scuffs.

Also I didn't want to go through the photo bucket to get a image on here but I do have a web site (just the pics currently) so how do I insert a url. There is a button on top but do you paste the url and hit the button or hit the button and paste the url?

Thanks

Sounds like a good deal to me.

As far as posting a url, you can just type it in or you can cut and paste it into your post. It will provide a link to click on automatically like this www.prcforum.com

Welcome - even though you are from that state up north! [;)] Just kidding! We have lots of friends from Michigan.
