63 years old and I pulled a first; I lost a key. More precisely, the key to the my Ranger.
I have a spare, but it's not a spare anymore. :(
Wondering if I have to go to the dealer or if I can get a blank online and have it cut?
Anyone?
Thanks,
Dano

I found a locksmith locally that had the blanks and could cut them but from what I understand that is the exception to the rule. However it may be worth make a few calls to locksmiths
There's a locksmith 20 miles away and my dealer is 50 miles away. Guess which one I try first

I lost one of mine and had to buy the key blank at my local dealer then have it cut at my local hardware store.
Hope not. My dealer is 50 miles away in a direction I don't go. All my shopping is done in the exact opposite direction.
Thanks,

I ordered an extra from FixMyToys and had it cut at my local ACE Hardware.

Usually you can find a car or motorcycle blank that will work too, I use to cut down Honda car keys to make ATV spares.

Dano,
Let me know if you don't have any luck. There's a dealer right across the street from my shop and my wife teaches in Wartburg, so she's there everyday and you can pick it up from her. I can pick up the key on Tuesday (I'm sure that they're closed on Monday) and can bring the key with her on Wednesday.

Thanks Jerry. I may take you up on that if need be. I'm home sick today. Feel like a mule kicked me in the chest and I actually know what that feels like.
May have Pneumonia. Spent most of the day Saturday removing the fiberglass insulation under the house. Possum got under there last year and tore it all
to heck. Having gas put in and needed to clean it up first. Used a mask but I think I still got enough fiberglass dust in my lungs to screw things up. My lungs
sure feel raw.
You know that locksmith down there toward Rockwood on 27 across from the old Roane State Plazza? Wonder if he'd have blanks? I go by there every
weekend or two. Daughter lives in Rockwood. I may try him first and if he don't have it, I'll give you a holler.
Appreciate you buddy,
Dano

I know who you're talking about.......he had to come unlock my truck about a year ago (long story   )......but I have no idea if he'd have the blanks. One thing is for sure, if he DOES, they'd definitely be cheaper than a dealer. When I bought my Ranger, it only had one key so I had to have a spare made and I think that I paid almost $20  for my blank.....and then still had to take it somewhere to have it cut.

Just let me know if you need me to pick one up. It looks like the place across the street IS open today. I forgot that they're a JD dealer, so I guess they don't have the privilege of having Mondays off like the motorsports guys.

Jerry, stopped at the Locksmith on my way to Lowes. He had blanks. Got 2 keys made for $10.95.
If you need a key made, he did a good job and it's close to home. Said he kept blanks for all the
major brands of ATV/UTV and motorcyles cause we seemed to lose them a lot  Anyway
thanks again and thank you to everyone else that responded.

Have a great Veterans day everyone and do me a favor. Remember us Vietnam Vets. We're Veterans too.

Thanks for your service Dano! Hope you get to feeling better.
Got a few days of antibiotics in me now and I feel alot better. Not 100% but I'm not coughing my
head off and my lungs out and my energy level is picking up. Feel like I might live thru this

Appreciate your thanks. Veterans Day is a day I usually get real depressed but not so much this
year. Maybe it's the alcohol in the cough medicine :) or maybe it's old age. It's been 42 years.
This is me in Nam in 68. Stepped on a spike. The day after this pic, I was in
the hospital with a systemic infection. Had IV's in both arms running wide open, a feeding tube
down my throat, rectal tube up my butt, urinary catheter in and a 103/104 degree temp. Had to be
bathed in ice water 3 or 4 times a day for a week. Don't ever let anyone tell you Charle wasn't
one hell of a guerrilla fighter cause he was. I was a Medic and I'd dosed myself with antibiotics
in the field immediately after it happened as well as cleaned the wound like I would any of my
men but Cong feces is some powerful crap. Dang near killed me. That was the first time Charlie
nearly got me, not the last.
Anyway, thank you.
Dano
