Well, after a couple of close calls I decided to build some leg guards to keep from breaking my legs.I made these from aluminum diamond plate.

I used the factory mounting holes at the back and bent the aluminum at the front so that I could anchor it at the front of the opening. Its just high enough that I can't throw my foot out during a tipping situation, yet still low enough that its not hard to get in and out of.I still have to powdercoat them black.

Curt,
Nice job.

OT question - What size trailer is that - it looks like a perfect fit, and not too big. Any idea where I can get something like that?

I made the trailer from a old popup camper. It 5 x 10 and works real well. I like it because I can pull it behind the Ranger through the woods without hooking trees. You just have to make sure and have heavy springs and 6 ply tires to keep it from leaning in the corners because it is narrow. Its suprising but its real stable.

You might check out Kendon Industries, in Anaheim, CA, for a trailer. They make special trailers for the side x side ATV's that are very nice. Not cheap, but practically bullet proof, and they can be stood up inside the garage next to a wall.

Curt, I have some hard rubber edge trim if you want a few feet to place along the top edge of the leg guards. We used it on our race car everywhere there was exposed edges. No matter how well you smooth them, you end up with burrs and then you're gacking your shins.

Anyway, if you tell me how many feet you need and send me your addess, I'll ship you a chunk. Stuff works great.

Matt, I really appreciate the offer, I actually have some of that trim, I just haven't got around to using it. Thanks again.
