Although you replace the u joints previously it may be that the need replacing again. It may also be that the yoke has worn out where it slides onto the splines.
I’m kind of thinking the yoke is wore out. There dosent seem to be much slack in u joints themselvesAlthough you replace the u joints previously it may be that the need replacing again. It may also be that the yoke has worn out where it slides onto the splines.
3900 miles 530 hours. 95% light/medium duty use. We live in the country. Up and down dirt roads, around the house etc. occasionally haul a small trailer or firewood or something. Never been to atv park or anything like that. Never been stuck in mud. Ive had quite a few problems with it honestly. Not super impressed with build quality. My dad has one a couple years older and its a tank. Main reason I bought this one. Park them next to each other and his is obviously much better built. Different front suspension set up. Better roll cage etc.J..............miles/hours on the Ranger ?
I had a local shop do it. They said they used oem parts. Its not greasable. I wish i could post a video the yoke sure is moving a lot on the shaft. If you pick up on the drive shaft you get like 1/4” or so gap between back of yoke and shaft on bottom. Set it down slack goes back to top. So far ive had to replace both front cv axles, both u joints, and apparently a bunch of bushings in front end. The cv’s i did myself. The rest i had done. Not much of a mechanic personally. Fixing to have to learn looks like. Steering is messing up too. Tons of slack. Can grab the shaft that goes into the steering box and wiggle it around, pull it up and down etc. like i said have had way more problems with this thing than i anticipated. If i can get the major ones mostly identified im going to just take it out of commission for a while and go through it. Which sucks because i need this thing. Thats why I bought it. So much easier to get around in than a truck. Especially just for short runs.Wow J................. I wouldn't think a yoke would be shot out in 530 hours . Did you replace the u joint with a good grease able zerk the last time and keep it greased ?

Based upon the videos I'd say that yoke is shot. While you have the driveshaft out to replace the yoke replace the U joints with some that can be greased. It's possible that the u joints are bad anyway and may have contributed to early yoke wear.
