I'm not sure if this has been posted so I will put it out there for everyone: When the fuel level gets low, your gauge will show the message "Fuel" on the LCD display and the speedometer needle will flash on and off briefly after starting. I've had my Ranger for three years and just now noticed it!
BTW- even with the fuel message being displayed, I was only able to put 6 gallons in a tank that is said to be 9 gallons so I don't think the fuel gauges are very accurate.
The above statements are for the Rangers that have the speedometer in the dash. I don't think the 400s have them.

I have never let mine get down that low to find out. I have been down to 1/4 of a tank and it only took 5 gallons to fill up before. Nice to know.

Seems to me mine will flash the last bar for a while before you get all kinds of warnings, at that point I have 1 gal left.
