1. Can the current 4 and 5 point harness bar setup be used with the spare tire carrier? (Does this sound right John?)

2. Can we get part numbers and pricing on all the accessories?

3. Is the service manual available yet? If not, when?

What is Polaris' policy on upgrades? If an item is found to be not
up to standards will Polaris offer a fix?

You can have a great engineering dept but not until you have a couple
hundred of these things out in the real world will some issues come up.

In regards to the 4 or 5 point harness question above, Bruce; heck, I may have confused myself with a typical non-sensical request.

I can't remember Polaris talking about anything but the stock restraints; yet I ordered the spare tire mount today and basically just wondered what in the heck they would come up with to hang off of this thing that I'm guessing somewhat dominates the space back there. I think that harnesses are just about a must here and that a lot of us can fab up just about anything given a side-to-side bar sticking out like this; yet to me, there's no sense in trying to immediatly out-engineer some Minnnesotan who's been thinking Rzr accessories in his sleep for how many years now (as if I could).

All things spare tire mount-related would be my first request please and thank you.

Did they fix the soft top flapping in the wind issue; as my Rhino top was worthless in this regard. IMO, this top would look nice with a narrowing strip of extra material strung back to the bed corners and adjusted at the same spot.

Ok this might sound dumb, just remember the RZR is my first Polaris anything:
But is the Fuel Injection system going to be Closed Loop or Open loop.
just curious for when it come time to modify

Oh and if you guys could bury one in mud and let me know how it does i'd aprreciate that, since that's where mine will be playing at. :)

No problem John. I think if I can just ask them if the bar would be suitable for mounting the harnesses to and would the spare tire interfere with this, then I could at least partially answer your question.

1) Is it possible to retrofit a pull start and could you pull it anyways considering the way this twin is configured?

2) From looking at and never buying rock rails or sliders on a full-size 4x4; it seemed that some designs were better than others. These definitely have a different look (very nice appearance) yet how are they attached and how is this design perhaps the strongest Polaris could come up with given the torsional limitations of the frame itself?

3) I remember somebody on here once mentioning some kind of inside info on a spacer spring(?)swap giving more top end to the tune of about 70 mph...have I been dreaming again?

1) How tough was it to secure the patent on this engine placement (or any others) and do they believe that this exclusitivity will be a factor in dominating the market if enforcable?

2) Are the manufacturers free and clear on the legal side of these things?

I read an article in the journal about their trying to push through the 'mid-range' age/machine quad classification as a way of keeping one-step ahead of regulation and wondered how we as a 'community'[V] are going to handle the proper operation of these things in partnership with a responsible company not wishing any more than us that certain people do indeed drive them.

There's a great chance for these machines to do one heck of a lot of good in exposing a lot more folks to the outdoors; yet there's a resistance among buyers to approach these manufacturers about how we create programs of all kinds locally to make that happen.
For example; I like the fact that Polaris sponsors programs such as TRALE...yet I don't think that their ideal 'bang for the buck' goal is accomplished there if one segment (us) isn't asking for things like how do we create training programs where volunteers don't get sued training some adult or older kid to not wad up an 800CC go-kart.

Sorry to ramble; just interested in how this will all play out when these things start to almost dominate the market; which I see as pretty much inevitable over time.

What is Polaris doing and what can we do to finally change those restrictions around the country where even this new 50" machine is not welcome?
Since Polaris was already brave enough to go up against the AMA here in Michigan (please extend a big thanks from us for even trying by the way) and doesn't sell off-road motorcycles to those intent on keeping the RZR out of just as many places as possible...what can we do to help them both get our land back and finally expose our young, old and disabled to the outdoors that they've been effectively shut out from since day one? (by, frankly, some very selfish folks in our own orv community?)

Folks, lets keep the posts on this particular thread to short, concise questions about aspects of the RZR. We won't have the time to get into all this other stuff. The trip is short and we have a lot on the agenda. So, if there is something specific that you are dying to know about the RZR, then please post this. But, be short and to the point.

Sorry, Bruce; I tried to number 'em for all for you guys and keep each particular question to one individual sentance; yet if I only get one deemed important enough for the folks at Polaris...it would definitely have to be the last one that I posted. (more machines sold for Polaris; more riding opportunities for the members of this forum; a great opportunity for both us and them to finally prove to our kids that we are indeed capable of standing up like men and women on the access/legacy driven issues which continually affect side-by-side enthusiasts).

It's going to be darn hard to fight this by ourselves, Bruce and believe me... it's even more difficult for one of us to call Polaris up 'out of the blue'...as opposed to you guys taking the issue to heart and simply looking them in the eye with a handshake.

Thanks.[:)]

John,

Ask away all the questions you want. We will mention as many as we can. I guess I don't understand what the question here is though. Sorry for being slow. I just don't know exactly what it is I am supposed to be asking. If it is not related to an aspect of the RZR, I don't know that they will take the time to address it. They might though.

You don't have anything to apoligize for my friend; as I tend to look at these kind of trips as similiar to the ones that I've taken many times over the years that may or may not apply here.(and I apoligize for muddying the waters somewhat).
My manufacturers have always heavily emphasized 'us' doing the legwork to get over any barriers present to marketing their new product. Sure, the dog and pony show is important; yet I've found that they can be just as equally interested in the hows and whys of just what stands in the way of this product gaining widespread favor in our individual markets.

The 50" rule that isn't (see the UFWDA's threatened action in the Manistee National Forest regarding the new travel management rule and already approved 60" trails) is a chasm presently dividing this side-by-side community. We've got the 60" machines that all of us are using presently but can't ride where they should be allowed....and the new 50" machines that will most likely sink any and all chances of us ever all working together on the same darn trails.

I believe that this matter is pretty huge in regards to our ever obtaining/keeping a soon-to-be-divided side-by-side community unified and certainly a critical issue that should be discussed any time that our representatives are given an audience with either company headquartered in Minnesota or even Japan (Yamaha).
We're all impressed with the machines that these people build; yet just like the safety situation...there's more to talk about that effectively moves this sport forward in a legacy-driven manner or atmosphere that effectively affords US something to be proud of indeed passing down also (which I'm beginning to believe is way down the line in importance for far to many of us attempting to make a 'living' off of this sport and not much else).

As I mentioned; you can delete all of my previous questions just to be afforded the chance to ask this one about going up 'against' our own brothers in motorized recreation who have been attempting to keep these new and older UTVs off of these trail systems...because I truly do believe that this subject matter will soon be that important to the membership of this forum and their ability to use these machines locally or nationally.
Ask a few of the guys and gals on this forum if this Razr is legal where they ride...and I think that you'll be surprised as to the answers you receive. (another thread I know; yet I'm simply driving home the point as to how much help we need out here from Polaris in this unfortunate showdown with those purposely skewing the multi-use issue; even unbelievably using 'environmental damage' for the simple reason that nobody on 'our level' evidently has the guts to call them on it).

What else is going to be made to fit in the lock and ride system for the bed? We have seen gas cans, gun racks, and spare tire. There is a couple more lock and ride holes in the middle of the bed that havent been used yet.Is there going to be a cooler option? Chain saw holder? ect?
