My question is does anyone have one on top of the rail that can handle the weight and wobble?

There's a post on here somewheres on a buildup of one...it's better then anything I've seen aftermarket, the bucket sits in the bed , and a ring positioned in the proper spot attached to a quick lock for the bed holes... My description probably sucks but it's what I'm going to do. I've been spending a fair amount if time picking up beer cans and trash on the trails from the sniwmobilers , I think it will be handy

That's nice but I don't want to eat up bed space...I might try to hang over side.

Agree on the overpriced DK unit. I am not sure I would trust it on the top of the bedside..... seems all the side to side movement would possibly crack the bed sides.
Built my own similar to what another person posted, but with just one homemade lock n ride plug. Outside the bed would probably work but again would watch closely to the sides stressing and cracking. With just beer cans and light junk it should be ok I would think.

Ya I did. I will start a tread on it. Not tough build but I just hate paying stooopid prices for some things.

Why not just take a second 5 gallon bucket and tie in in place and stack the bucket you want to use inside it? Cheap, effective, no making anything.
