I ride a lot around the neighborhood and I haven't noticed any issues on blacktop. That being said, I hardly ever get past 40 or so. The few times I did, I don't remember any vibration from the tires.

I heard the same about the MTC's and that was one of the reason I went with the Roctanes.

Curt (carnivore) just installed a set of Claws on his RZR, so maybe he'll chime in once he has a chance to give them a test drive.

I have the MotoClaws on my 900 Crew. So far we've put around 700miles on them, half blacktop and half dirt road and slop. They seem to be doing well. They ride really nice on the hard stuff and pull just fine in the slop, with no real wear showing as of yet. I have the DOT approved ones in 30x10x14. My only complaint is that they aren't a true 30" tire. With 15 pounds of air in them, mine only measure 28.5"

How do you like those roctanes? Smooth on blacktop at 50mph?
Honestly, I wouldn't consider them "smooth", but bearable. Not as smooth as the Bighorns I'm used to, but they have eliminated the sidewall cuts and punctures I was getting on the Bighorns. I don't run 50+ very often, so I'll take the less smooth ride that goes along with the tougher 8 ply tire.

I am still in the process of getting them mounted up but since they are a DOT tire I assume they should ride good. They appear to have plenty of traction. I've been told that you have to air them up to 35 pounds for 24 hours to get the tire to stretch to get the full size. Judging by my tire clearance I don't want them any bigger.

Looked up roctanes, tread looks similar to bighorns. Is the roctane 8 ply and bighorn 6?
Better sidewall protection?
thanks

Mason, my MotoClaws ride great at 50mph+. Better actually than the Trail Grapplers on my truck. My only complaint is the sizing seems a bit small. Think I'll air them up to 35 pounds in the morning like mentioned above, and air back down Sunday and see where they're at. The ride on blacktop really is smooth though. We take the Ranger 6.5 miles from our camphouse to the duck lease, and 4 miles of that is blacktop, including a mile and a half of 2 lane highway and they ride smooth and track straight at 50+.

Yes, and yes. Although the tread is similar, the Roctanes clean out mud better than the Bighorns did, and still do just as well (if not better) in the rocks and hardpack.

After leaving mine aired up to 35 psi for a day then bringing them down to 16 psi from the ground up on the machines my 30" measure 29.5". Not too bad.
