This is my 2014 Polaris Ranger XP 900 EPS. I bought the Ranger for a mobile welding set up and it has turned into that and much more. I started with building a rear roll cage and custom rack for some welding gear. I then moved on to the front and rear bumpers and well...when you own a custom fabrication shop not much stays simple. After building those and installing some Camoplast Tatou tracks I planned on being done. That didn't last long ;). After going to our hunting land during a blizzard I soon got tired of snow in my face so ive now built a simple and sleek roof and a cheap rear window. The rear window is just a piece of lexan...and I know everyone complains about them scratching and what not but I have a welding generator that sit in front of it and its basically there to block wind. I wanted to keep the roof simple and sleek so it sits below the frame line. Also I wanted to stay low because I am in the process of building a roof rack and light bar off the rear roll cage. Some time this summer ill spend the money and actually buy the Polaris glass windshield just so there arnt any visibility issues. Then once that is in I can build steel full doors and maybe electric windows but probably sliding will suffice. Let me know what yall think so far and ill contine to post as I keep building.

Very impressive fabrication on the bumper. Just out of curiousity, what is it that you do that requires this type of mobile welding set up?

Texas... i have a welding and custom fab shop but I am up in northern wisconsin in a small town so most of the calls i get are for logging companies and excavation equipment and sometimes people boat docks so i wanted to make it easier on my self and be able to get anywhere and everywhere.

Thanks for all the feed back everyone.

Great plan!

We have our Miller Bobcat on a trailer so we can take it wherever it needs to go on the farm.

Got some work done today on the roof rack. It's not complete yet but this is the general shape and tubing. I still need to add some lacing on the back bars that I ran all the way down to the bumper. it took it down to the bumper because sometime trees and shrubs still hit the tail lights and id like to protect them just a bit more plus ill be building a side exo cage and ill use that as my attachment point. keep this in mind...everything I have build is removeable and I could pull everything of and have a completely stock ranger just in case some day I decide to sell it and upgrade to a newer one...probably not but you never know. also on the top of the rack ill be welding in some expanded steel for a bottom so everything does just sit on the roof. I have to also finish light tabs but those will come later since I haven't yet decided on which lights I want to run.

Nice work! Nice setup! Nice shop! I love a good welder, I have ranger 9, 2-650 hobarts and a miller gold star 300, all with wire feeders. Nice to have the mig on board but what's in the box? plasma cutter or push/pull gun? Have you seen the new Miller with the built in compressor, man that's sweet.

Thumbsup!. I like the bumper minus the grille guard ;-) . How much of the radiator is the bumper blocking? Youy might want to add some holes above the hawse to allow for air movement.

Pede58... i have a trail blazer 250 and then a sp32 wire feeder and then the box is a high frequency starter for doing TIG hinse the 2 bottles...co2 and argon...and then i have an alum spool gun back there as well. And yea i used to have a miller big blue air pak but i sold that because i moved my set up from my truck to the ranger. All that stuff above is just the mobile set up..my shop has much more haha. Also i am in the process of figuring out how to mount a small compresser under the seats in the open area so i can throw my plasma cutter back there.
