My oldest daughter (17) had some friends over today and like typical teenagers, they were bored, so Sue (my wife) asked me if I minded that they all take out the Ranger and RZR for some trail riding near the house here. Not long after they left it started raining, so I threw some raingear in the truck and went out looking for them. Well...in true 'Sue' form she had found some mud to play in, and when I arrived (with the camera, of course) she had buried the RZR.

Ranger to the rescue!!

And out she drives!

I noticed that the stock tires are NOT self-cleaning in the mud. Once they got full it was over. Time to call Matt at ATV Outfitters! Matt, we need tires!

Great shots Randy, your calling the right guy in Matt for the tires, but give him a week or so to deck his out first and see what works best then follow his lead.[;)][:D]

Good idea Allan. I'm not crazy about having big spacers in there as I like how narrow the RZR is now. I may try to get a set-up similar to what they had at the factory.

Great story. Let us know what tires you go with and how well they work in the mud.

Mark...I will let you know what we go with. I'm thinking XTRs. I'm very happy with the BigHorns on the Ranger, but was thinking of trying something different on the RZR just for comparison purposes.

The XTR seems to be a little better in the mud due to the tread depth and lug design, so it might work well for you. It's not a hardcore mud tire, but is a good compromise for someone who wants more mud-ability than the bighorn. I am likely staying with Bighorns since I am not the mud nut I once was (too lazy to clean up!)

Thanks Randy. I was thinking of getting the Bighorns for my Rzr when it gets here. I will be doing some mud, not as much as trail, so it would be interesting, and maybe cheaper for me, to get your review of both.

I wouldn't recommend the bighorns for mud. Randy, did the XP go through the same trail that the RzR got stuck on? Just curious.

Nice photos with the exception of lack of helmets.
