I pulled my stock, no lift Ranger all over Texas this past year that I have owned it on a 16ft lowboy. No problems so far, but I have been thinking of getting an enclosed trailer for better protection. The few that I have looked at the door opening was too short. What are some manufacturers of a trailer with an extended door opening? This is for a stock 2014 900.

If you are only an inch or two short on the door opening take a ratchet strap and compress your springs to get clearance I have done this myself works good
Or get a dove tail trailer

my 2104 ranger no lft with 29.5 terms fits in a 7x16 with a 6'6" interior heigth. some brands trailers come with 6,6 interior shop around however if you ever plan on lifting it go ahead and get at least an extra foot of heigth

I just bought a mission mes 7x18 for my ranger and my sleds. I went 9" over height which gave me plenty of room to get in after adding a reverse beaver tail which raises the back end by 5" so that it won't drag when i pull out of my driveway or parking lots. My machine is only 76" high (stock height) and the 18' gives me room to fit a quad in front. The 7' width works but wider will give you more room to get around the machine once inside. The 7' does make it very easy to see around when towing though!

@ Worldsailr - what is that on the bed of your Ranger? A tonneau cover? Maybe you can post some pics of that in a new thread?

We are trailer dealer and I always suggest to go with a 1 ft of extra height of you are going to be Hauling UTV's you never know if your going to upgrade and need the extra height. It's usually around 400.00 on a 16-18ft trailer but well worth it.

Ok, I have been looking at trailers until I'm dizzy. Looks like I am going to have to order a trailer to get the extra height that I need. My decision now is, do I go with a 8.5 x 16 or a 7 x 16. Would like a 8.5 wide to make it easier to get out of the ranger after pulling in but worry about how hard it will be to pull with the wind resistance. Should I get a V nose? Only problem with that is all the V nose trailers I looked at were flat tops and I really wanted a round top. Worried about leaks with the flat roof. Any help would be nice as I am driving myself nuts with this. Will be pulling with a F-250 6.7 diesel.

If you'll always have the truck to pull it, especially a diesel powered truck, I'd go with the 8.5 wide. Round top is my preference as well, for the same reason. As for length, if you went 8.5 wide, you'll love the extra room a 20 or 22' will offer or all the future upgrades you'll want to add later. An 8.5x22 is no problem for the truck you have.

Did you check the R&R trailers web site? they can make it any way you want it, at least they did 2 years ago when I went there.

Keep us informed on you big buy coming up.

Thanks Jaxon, will keep you updated with my shopping. Did look at R&R but with the shipping to Texas would be a little spendy. There are 3 trailer factories in Waco just an hour and a half away that I can order just about anything I want and take delivery at the factory and save some bucks. Just need to nail down just what I want.

For what you're going to spend on an enclosed trailer the size you're lookin at, you could find a very good conditioned used bumper pull toy hauler. I've been scouring craigslist and have found several in the $10K range.
