So I had a belt explode on me a couple weeks ago. Replaced the belt went to plow snow today and noticed the belt slipping. I pulled the clutch cover to see oil in there belt soaked. I checked crank seal it good. It looks like a simple oil seal behind the secondary. Is there any alternative place to buy this seal. Or a part number so I can get it from a auto parts store. 1 week wait and 25 bucks for it at a polaris dealer around here

never seen that seal fail. best bet if you want to cross it is to remove it and take it to the autoparts store for them to match up. I'm betting it's a simple lip type seal. They may ask for the shaft diameter on the transmission so they can get you the correct seal.

That seal is pretty unique. You'll probably waste more time trying to track down an alternative than it would be worth.

As Adam mentioned, I've never seen one of those leak (and I have more tranny experience than the average guy), but there's a first time for everything.
