Just purchased a used 2007 Ranger 700 xp after drooling over them for years. :eagerness:
Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.
It's a stock model with 3,300 miles on it.
It looked clean and drove and started right away.
Can't wait to get out and play with it!
Any must have accessories?

Polo, welcome to the club. My recommendation would be given the miles/year and assume it must be around 300 hours, change out all the fluids (front, rear, transmission, radiator, etc.), filters (air), inspect the belt, plug, grease, and start with a known baseline. During the meantime, you can begin making that list, like lift kit, tire size, and likely with some patience get some used or from some of the sponsors here. I would also give consideration as to what you really want to accomplish with the unit, i.e., light trail riding, mud ridding, swimming as the set up will be different based on outcome expected. Do enjoy and post a picture :)

Welcome from another Minnesotan. You are going to enjoy your ranger. We have some much fun on ours, as well as everyone else on this forum. I agree with alloutdoors on the service end. Buying accessories will be never ending.

Thanks to everyone
Thanks Alloutdoors for the help. I wont get my ride until Monday.
Does my owners manual tell me how to change all those fluids? Is a dealer the best place to get them?
I'll be using it for stuff around the yard, hunting and light trail riding.
Looking to possibly add some light and a windshield (uhg - expensive)
My wife is going to need a shoulder safety belt to make her comfortable - any suggestions?

There are many options for alternative fluids (you can search here in the upper right hand corner or google, numerous options), but here is the PDF owners manual for your machine http://cdn.polarisindustries.com/polaris/common/parts-manuals/9920636r01.pdf

Alloutdoors is spot on with his advice! As far as the shoulder safety belt is concerned, I assume you are talking about a four point harness as opposed to the three point stock belt? if so, there is one proper way to install it and 350 improper ways to do it! An improperly installed shoulder harness can be extremely dangerous. Here is a good primer on how to choose and install a harness - it is critical on how/where the harness is attached behind the passenger!
