Hello all. I am very excited because I just bought my first Ranger yesterday! I spent a lot of time on this forum doing research before I made my purchase.
I gave $12,050 out-the-door for a brand new 2015 900 XP Non-EPS, which I feel was a good deal.
I brought it home yesterday and drove it around for a little while and gave it a good inspection. Aside from a few oversights from the dealership (battery cable clamp bolts missing, standing water in the under-seat storage bins, lots of dust on everything) and the typical Polaris plastic rattle at idle (nothing some 2-sided tape won't fix), I love it!
My only real concern is the loud metallic clank coming from somewhere under the bed when the throttle is applied from a stand still. It is like the drive train has a lot of "play" in it. It happens in H, L and R, but only when the drive train is "unloaded" and then the throttle is pressed. I don't think it's the belt or clutches, but more gear related.
I plan on driving it some more tonight to see if I can better isolate where it is coming from.
Has anyone else had this or heard of this before? Is it normal and nothing to worry about?
Thanks,
Brad
