Just purchased a 2015 Ranger 570 Crew Mid-size, so I thought I'd better join The Club. I have 42 years of experience both riding & repairing all sorts of vehicles & motorcycles but this will be my first experience with a Side X Side. I didn't start riding until I was 18, so you do the math and you'll discover I'm one of the Older members.

The "Ranger" in WestTexasRanger comes from my interest in fishing and owning Ranger boats through the years. I also know a few Texas Rangers in law enforcement and have a great deal of respect for them. In fact, the man who started Ranger Boats (Forrest L. Wood) respected them so much, he named the Brand after them.

I'm not a fan of the Texas Rangers baseball team or the New York Rangers hockey team.

My home is in Lubbock, Texas, the heart of West Texas.

I've been a self-employed General Contractor for 25+ years but also owned a BMW Motorcycle dealership from 1992-2000, at which time I became a Certified BMW mechanic. I've always repaired and serviced my own vehicles. At 60 years old, I've still yet to have anyone change oil for me. I enjoy doing it, but my wife says it's because I'm CHEAP (which could also be true).

Being a new Ranger Owner, I'm sure that I'll be asking a lot of questions here on the Forum. I'm also hoping to make contributions as well.

Thanks for having me!

Welcome to the forum. It's great to have another "older" guy on here as well as a 2015 Midsize 570 Crew owner like myself.

Welcome to forum, I'm another old guy (70) and have a 2014 570 crew and I still ride dual sport motorcycles. This is my second UTV, first was a JD 825i Gator when it comes to motorcycles I'm been riding since I was 15 and some 50 plus bikes later I'm still doing it. Looks like we fit the same mold when it comes to just having fun. Good luck and welcome aboard.

Thanks for having me!

It's pretty apparent that owning a Ranger is just like owning any other recreational vehicle: Buying it is the "inexpensive" part. Personalizing it is where it gets expensive.

So far I've added Power Steering, Polycarbonate windshield with vent, Polycarbonate rear shield/dust stopper and a rear-view mirror.

I'm pretty bummed with how easy the colored plastic on the hood scratches. Seems like every time I look at it there's another scratch and all I've done is drive it around my neighborhood. Mine's RED, so I'm thinking about doing a Red carbon-fiber wrap or Hydro Dip.
