I can only fill my Ranger tank to about 1/3 full. After that , the petrol just pours out underneath, when I'm on a slope.

I had to replace my gas cap because it leaked when full. I could see where it was coming from so it wasn't hard to know where the problem was located.

I had the original gas cap with a guage in it and it leaked bad. Replaced it and still had a leak. I don't have a leak anymore since I put on a cap from a Snapper engine the part number is 1-2515 or you can get the Oregon substitute part 07-308. Fits like a glove. Cost was just over $10.00 here in Tucson, AZ. Maybe you can order one online from down under.

Do you turn the vent screw closed on the Snapper cap or must it remain open as a vent?

Since the tank is already vented, I'd think that you could run it with the cap vent closed.
