When I bought the ’13 900XP, I knew a stereo build was a must. For all of you that have seriously looked into a stereo build you are aware that there are very limited options for the 2013 and up models.
I started with a Tractor Tunes roof mount stereo that came with the bike. I gutted it and began putting everything together piece by piece. I’m estimating I have about 40 hours in it all together (I am very picky with my work). The project turned out clean. I am very satisfied with the end result.
My build includes:
(2) Rockford Fosgate PBR300x2
Rockford Fosgate PEQ Remote Punch EQ (sub amp)
(4) 6.5” Polk Audio DXi651
10” Polk Audio DB1040
Pioneer MVH-X560BT Digital Media Receiver
I fabricated the amp rack
Built the sealed subwoofer enclosure from ¾” MDF
I bought the 2 Polaris speaker mounts
This was a fun project. I have toyed with the idea of building a few more sub boxes to sell. I have a lot of time into perfecting the box. Because of the limited space, I had to ensure tight tolerances to acquire the desired volume.
Sub box before carpet
Just for fun
Feel free to ask any questions on the detail of the build.
