I purchased a 900 single cab roof, light bar mounts front and rear, and a wetsounds sound bar mount from www.Texas-outdoors.com which is Owned by Nick Shycker of Garden Ridge, Tx. Nick Shycker, the owner, offered a discount if I were to pay with a check up front, of about 10%. I sent check, it was cashed the day it arrived, mind you. He quoted delivery to be 7-10 business days. A month went by and could not even get him to respond to phones calls, business and cell phone, emails, or texts to his cell phone which he did conduct some business by during the transaction. After exhausting all avenues to get in contact with him I receive a picture of my roof before 8:00 am on a Sunday. I tell him it is the wrong roof pictured because the light bar sizes were obviously incorrect. He apologizes and sends a picture promptly of what appears to be the correct roof.

Keep in mind this was on a Sunday. It took me over 2 weeks AFTER receiving the picture to get him to ship the roof. I had to get the police involved, threaten to sue him, the whole 9 yards to even once again get him to respond on why my roof had not shipped. By this time I have heard 20 different excuses. I had a huge red flag raised when I contacted the Garden Ridge police department (where his business is located) and I did not even have to tell them the business name, they guessed it after hearing 3-4 sentences of my troubles and how to handle it. If you question at all that he is scamming people, please contact the Garden Ridge police department by phone and ask. The Theft/Fraud department knows his business by name.

Nick Shycker finally gets the roof to a shipping company, which I paid shipping on top of my roof cost in the beginning. He also goes as far to offer a free light bar for my troubles. The shipping company delivers as they should, no damages done to the package, it was on a pallet and strapped down.

Once the roof shows up, issues:
-Light bar brackets are WAY off (Totals about 20” off)
-Sound bar mounts are WAY off (Roughly 10-15” off)
-Roof mount holes aren't even close (at least 1” off and not even symmetrical)
-Holes in the roof. The top flat metal has holes in it large enough water could more than drip through
-edges on the roof are exposed metal, not coated
-Coating looks like a two year did it with finger paint
-No mounting hardware
-Welds look like they were someones first attempt EVER
-My free light bar for my troubles was not included.

Too top it all off, Nick Shycker is no where to be found, will not return a phone call. Did respond to a text saying he would call me back, but has not done so. I expressed to him in the text all of the things that were wrong, he did not respond.

Anyone that thinks this might be a bad dealing or unfair review, email me. I can provide pictures, copies of texts, phone records, anything you want to prove this is SCAM! Please, do not let this guy have your business! I am also now learning his "Lifetime Warranty" is no good because he will not even answer a phone call or return one.

My main reason for writing this everwhere I can find is that people will do their research searching for a Ranger 900 roof or top and find that this is a company NOT to do business with. www.Texas-Outdoors.com service is poor at BEST, their roof for a Polaris Ranger 900xp is not at all professional, and I want everyone to know this.

My name is Justin and my email if you would like any further contact or assist with this issue is [email protected]. Nick Shycker is located in Garden Ridge Texas and unfortunately I am well over a day’s drive away or I would jump in my truck and return this roof to his business, which I have found out is his home address by the way. I even tried to write a review on www.Texas-outdoors.com website and the reviews do not get put up, I am guessing they go through an email system for Nick Shycker to approve before they are put on the website. Needless to say, no good reviews. I will be contacting the local police to file a claim, the BBB in San Antonio/ Garden Ridge, and any other legal avenue I can pursue. His website also list two partner, Roberto Ramon and Cameron Mere, neither of which I have had any contact with or direct business by phone, email, or texts. I have found them by social media and sent them messages to see if they would like to respond or assist, but as of 2/13/15 at 6:30pm no response.

I am glad I read your post. I was going to order a roof. I left a message and he called me back within the hour. He seemed legit but I guess not based upon your experience.

The tops that they make look awesome on there website. If there service ain't worth a flip it really doesn't matter how good the tops look.
His tops look great, but what showed up is awful! It's about 10" wider than the actual ranger. This topic gets me so worked up because this kid that owns this company is such a scam. I will be looking into my options tomorrow for taking him to court. I've got him in writing wanting to give me a refund, yet he won't answer after that. I believe he's got to be dead to rights so to say, especially sense my order is completely wrong WITH holes in it.

His product appears to be a great idea. More of a utility roof than some of these sport options out there. Depending the outcome of this issue, I have someone standing by ready to make what I'm looking for, thinks he can blow away these prices as well. If I am able to do this I will be glad to share if anyone is interested, let me know. Maybe if we get a few orders together we can have some buying power to get a low price

It it also isn't worth a flip if what showed up doesn't fit, isn't what you ordered, isn't fully coated, doesn't have the correct spacing for accessory mounts, and so on.
Hopefully after reaching out to local police something occurs for you "I will be contacting the local police to file a claim, the BBB in San Antonio/ Garden Ridge, and any other legal avenue I can pursue. roberto Ramon is no longer associated with the company. He has returned my messages and called me. He was getting scammed by his business partner and he got out over a year ago I believe he said. He was a pleasure to talk to and to help me with this transaction. Just wanted to clear up his name here
get a rope as.............. ho...... le T&S

I live about 35 minutes from Garden Ridge. I'm not volunteering to go rough anybody up or break any laws but if you think of a way I could help I would probably be willing to do what I could. That sucks that he's not even remotely caring for customers.

It would be fun to see someone video an in-person inquiry about his product and ask for references, especially from the o.p.; then post it here..

I believe he does something else during the day. He's never able to talk before about 6pm. I asked in the beginning if this was a side business, which really didn't bother me. Many awesome people in our hobby are contributing great things as a side business. He swore it was his full time job. Well I'm finding out this guy is a pathological liar it appears.

Update as of the end of business today. No response, no answer or return to my phone calls from Friday and the weekend. I sent him another message telling him I've talked to an attorney and if he makes me take him to court he would be liable for all my cost. I've got in writing from him offering me a refund and me accepting.
I say stick it to him!

From what i have heard from a large UTV acc company based here in Texas is that this company has been doing this for years. If you look at the pictures on their website, they just happen to be the same ones from the company above or at least they used to be. I haven't checke, but supposedly they have had many complaints filed against them to the BBB. If you like their stuff check out Big Country Outdoors, at least they are trustworthy and will deliver the product.
The problem with that horns is I was not able to find any negative about this company before the purchase. I'm trying to get this out in as many places as possible. If y'all know how to get this out further I'm all ears. In the meantime I'm in limbo. I've given him this week to return my money, but I don't expect that since he won't even return a call or message
Update. I called his office number and spoke with Yvette Shycker. She asked I send the roof back and Nick Shycker would send me a refund. I told her politely hell no!! Nothing has been done for me to trust Nick to send me the money. So they have their attorney sending me a letter on how to handle the return. We shall see

Well, here is an update and ending to the story.

After many go arounds, I did receive a short incomplete letter from some attorney that seemed to be just a legal doc drafting attorney, a legal shield franchise owner or something. They said they would take the roof back once received I would have payment within three days. Offered to send call tag for roof but not call tag. Took me probably two weeks to get a call tag, sent roof back, then took many more letters to the company and his "attorney" threatening to sue to them again for the money and all legal fee's (attorney quoted upwards of 5,000) and two weeks later I did receive a check. It has been deposited, and hopefully funds are good against the check!

I have noticed he is have a "hot sale" on some roofs now, I'm sure someone will be getting the roof I just returned, I would bank on it actually! Hopefully no one else falls victim to this kid running a shotty business. I'm glad I was able to get my money back out of him, 90 days later.

Just be careful, make sure any negative information you post on the internet is FACT based, with emotion removed. You can be counter-sued for libel. As long as it is fact based, and you don't make personal attacks, you'll be fine. Make sure to follow up with your BBB claim, it does work well most of the time. I had to do one against Cox Cable and the BBB basically "strong armed" Cox to refund me for channels I didn't order, or face a negative report from them; but I had to provide evidence.

I have full records of conversations, emails, texts, phone records and letters for proof. I could scan all in if anyone is in question of what I have said. Would waste a good evening, but to prove what I've said, I have it all in a nice file.

Ordered a top from them 3 weeks ago. Didn't see this post before I did. Just started attempting to contact them today to find out status of my order. I'm beginning to feel somewhat leery of this. Will keep you all posted.
Ughh that bites
