Iam thinking of adding the factory radio in the future, but have concerns about water proofing of the sterio and speakers, does anyone know if this system is waterproof, would probably not buy it if it isn't!!!

I think it is waterproof, but haven't read any good reviews. I too was interested in the factory radio for the clean look. But from what I've read, it's not very powerful, as far as output, and have read problems of poor reception and radio head acting weird. I've decided to go with an aftermarket overhead ipod console. Hope this helps.

Yes, the unit is waterproof, but I do not recommend spraying high pressure water directly into the speakers or head unit.
There have been some negative reviews, but at this time I have not had any problems from mine. The only negative thing I can say about mine is at high speed you can't hear it clearly. But I blame that on the location of the two front speakers, being mounted down by your knees.
There are two more outputs for additional speakers, and an amp or subwoofer output.
When I have time I am going to add two more speaker and a small amp.

Where / how are you going to mount additional speakers? I found that the radio and speakers sound tons better w/ bluetooth or USB. Even if I have good radio reception it just does NOT sound good. But for even better sound I would entertain additional speakers if I could get ideas where to put them and also find enclosures.

I have to agree that it sounds a lot better and louder with the Bluetooth or usb the reception with antenna is not the best. At first I was disappointed with it however it is nice to not worry about mud or water hurting any thing and it does look like it belongs there. I guess it depends on how you want to use it, for me it does fine however it will not shake your fillings like some kids cars do. The Bluetooth works really nice I just have my phone with me or in glove box and as soon has I start it it picks it right up, and if any of my kids are with me or they take it it will change devices really easy ( Even I can do it!!) So now after having it a while I am pleased with it and seeing some other people's system they are always worried about getting theirs wet or dirty and I don't. Like someone else said I would not directly power wash it but I have run the hose across the head and speakers with no ill effect.

It does have bass and treble adjustment and a few DSP settings. and the rcas for an amp. I'm not sure about the remote wire. And I didn't see any subwoofer level adjustment on the unit.

I was also disappointed with the sound output, but that is totally due to the speaker location. I have added a VDP soundbar overhead and you can easily hear now riding at any speeds. I powered it off the rear speaker outputs. The VDP uses some really cheap speakers so I may have to upgrade those some point now.
