Polaris Nikasil Coating

Hey, I have a 2013 RZR 900 with a +3mm Big Bore from Rev6. After less than 100 miles the engine started smoking. When I got it apart, I found that the nikasil coating had a large chunk taken out of it. I am curious what could have caused this. Is this a problem with the part or with assembly? I am also curious where I can get a new cylinder of this size. I can not find any of them from the higher end companies. The only ones I can find are from cheap Chinese companies. Are the cheap ones any good?

Do you have any experience with Rev 6 and their parts? That is who we ordered the cylinder from.
I do. They suck. And the cylinders are not new, unless its one that isnt a Polaris cylinder. Also there cases are refurbished. This company lies and sales shit. I had one of their pistons explode. Man, i tell ya, i got pictures and i spent alot of time dealing with these people. I ended up sending everything i brought from them back. There pistons are cheap Chinese crap. They are cast also. They dont have the cylinders coated like factory. They get their cylinders from a local company and half of them are knock offs. Any Polaris cylinder they send are refurbs and not coated. When it comes to major parts like crank, cylinder, pistons, bearings , you better use OEM. I can point out any lie they say about their parts, and i have proof.

Don't mess with rev6. Get in touch with me and I'll give you plenty of reasons. Youll have to get a new cylinder anyway,so go back with Polaris stuff.
I will have to look into them next time.
If you use rev6 stuff ,the next time is already here.
If you could find a quality cylinder that wasn't coated, then i would use that. Because on the coated cylinders, once you use them, its over, , you have to replace the cylinder every time you replace the rings. Or if you don't, then they start having blow by after a few hours of running.
