I am sharing a few pics of a recent ride we made. There was plenty of mud and water!

My 2015 Ranger with 2" Highlifter and 27" Bighorns

A buddy's 2015 Ranger with 4" Highlifter and 28" Radial Outlaws

Good times down in the river bottoms

2012 Ranger Crew 800 on 28" Terminators stuck in the sandy water

2013 Ranger with 4: Highlifter and 28" Terminators buried in the peanut butter mud (which blew a rear axle)

Navigating one of the water holes

Here is the video. It's a bit long but it gives an idea of how we roll!

I enjoyed the pics and cideo, but its also a good reminder of why i feel better about buying a new ranger instead of used, . You people run these things preetty damn hard! Looks like fun but i would rather be the passenger on someone else bike than doing that to mine, lol. Of xourse, i can tell, I'm in the minority on the forum.

I've been following your purchase decision on a 570 vs 900 Ranger. It sounds like you have done your homework.

I hear you about being hesitant on buying a used wheeler! I'm one of the guys who snorkels the machines and runs them hard, and even I am leery of buying used! The reality for me, however, is that riding in the mud and water is my fun. I don't hunt or fish; the Ranger is my sole source of entertainment. That means my Ranger gets ridden hard and sees lots of WOT.

On the other hand, I find myself in the minority when it comes to telling honest tales about how the bike is maintained. I change all the fluids every 2-3 rides when it comes to riding in that deep water and mud until 3am for two days straight. I am the guy who closely monitors wiring, wheel bearings and bushings and brakes, you know, before the A-Arm is wallowing out the frame and before the wheel bearing seizes in the hub... LoL! Because my Ranger is my hobby and because I only get to ride every few weeks, if my Ranger breaks due to a lack of maintenance, my entertainment just went out the window for a month. And that is not what I call fun!

I would love to ride with you, and maybe if i was mechanically inclined enough, i wouldnt be as hesitant to mud bog my own, lol. It does look like great fun!

Cool to see some more people from Victoria around. I've only been here for about 6 months now, but we have gone twice out to mud buddy's. We were out there not this past Saturday but the one before that. I ended up clipping a tree and took out the rim. I've orded a outkast full kit and just trying to decide on tires now, going to be 30's of some sort. Maybe one of these weekends we will run into one another.

They claim the rear axles on a Ranger 900 are weak. On one hand, you can see that the axle broke on the Orange 2013 Ranger 900 with 28x10 Terminators. On the other hand, those Terminators were almost covered in thick mud and the driver had plenty of cold beverages in him.

The 2012 camo Ranger Crew 800 was also on 28x10 Terms. He blew a rear axle in that same hole but continued to drive with 3WD for a while longer. When we went down the river, he got stuck in the river sand. Trying to unstick that big rig, ta front axle on that same side let go. With two broken axles, he was having a lot of trouble moving around down in the river. So with him helping as much as possible, I assisted him back to camp with a tow.
