I kind of have had the same problem with my Ranger as Gary's. For the first time I used the button on it that allows you drive in the yard without tearing up the grass and it did fine around the house. A few days later I went camping got a little stuck in some mud so I waited till the wheels stop spining and put it in AWD and got out. Then I stopped to put it back in 2WD and as I was going forward the Ranger started jerking as I was moving forward, I put it in reverse and no problem, then back to forward and did it again. This only happend at a slow speed, I had to at least get it back to the campsite to work on it so as I was driving back, I got on the gas pedal and seemed to work out what ever the problem was. But it was a pretty bad jerking situation at first. It did a couple of more times that night without me using AWD but hasn't done it since. Also is the LED in the AWD 2WD button suppose to be on all the time????
Thanks for any help.

You guys having any luck figuring out the problem. I'm sure it's already been mentioned in Gary's thread but sometimes changing the fluid helps things.

Well I've been camping again since then and I also have been driving around the house and it has been fine. Maybe it just got stuck AWD for a bit but a fluid change is going to be done soon. I have all the stuff to do it with, just haven't got it done yet.

Also I only have 133 hours on it and It had a complete fluid change after I got it a little water logged and that was at about 30 hours or so.
