I am happy with the ride of the 900 fs but on my rutted out bumpy roads, it isnt as buttery as i would like. I suspect a machine made for work with a load capacity of 1000lbs in the bed can only be so soft. When i had it loaded up with 2 riders and 300 lbs in the bed the ride was better and yes, all springs are on the softest setting. I have yet to go over 30mph and only did that when i hit a straight away, mostly running 15-20 mph and hope the stabilizer bar removal will further improve the ride.

It looks pretty simple to unbolt and remove bit if there are any tips or suggestions, please advise. Looks like it will only take 15 min to remove but we,ll see

It's a pretty straight forward job and not much advice I can offer.

The ride will only be a little smoother, but the suspension will articulate better with it removed.

But, you will also have more side to side sway, it may take some getting use to.

( Side note: The Ranger is more likely to roll over at higher speeds when cornering with swaybar removed. Yes, there are some variables here).

I removed mine the first week I had it. It was a little scary at high speed but nice riding on the rough trails and side hills. I did end up moving the shocks to the outside mounting holes and this firmed up the ride nicely. I have about 1200 miles on it now with the shocks still at their lightest setting and enjoying the ride greatly. Also removed the sway bar tabs on the rear frame to clean it up and took the tabs off the lower A-arms so that it doesn't hold up so much weeds from mudding.

I have a large collection of sway bars in the corner of the shop, one for every machine we've ever had. Just be careful on the high speed stuff until you get use to it, and keep it mind that you'll probably want to add a little preload or move the shocks to the outside mounts.

When you all say be careful at high speeds, what is considered high speed? I have not been over 40 so far and that was just to see how it felt. Normally top speed for me is 30-35 with an average of 15-20

What is key here is to get to know your machine all over again after to take the sway bar off, it will feel significantly different especially in flat turns. I rolled mine at a very low speed on a flat road without the sway bar (and a 3" lift) just because I didn't take the time to get the 'new feel' of the machine... but man, the difference in the ride on the trails without the sway bar was fantastic!

An electronic disconnecting sway bar sure would be nice. I doubt that it would be a reasonably cost. :(
Or at least quick disconnect links like you see for Jeeps. I saw an aftermarket swaybar setup with Q.D.'s several years ago for a Ranger. It was pretty trick, but the dang thing was over $600.
