First, does one of the sheaves on the drive clutch move freely back and forth on the shaft before installation, i.e., no spring tension? Second, have any of you experienced clutch chirping after installation, and if so, is there a fix?

Mine made a little noise when I first installed it. Kind of a high pitch chirp but went a way after a hour or so of riding. Figured it could just be a little oil from mfg on either belt or clutch. I've put close to 500 miles on mine and not had one problem with it. Pretty sure the primary will move freely in and out. Man if I had any questions about the duraclutch I would give Todd at Hunterworks a call. He is a great guy to talk to. I think you will be fine. unless it just doesn't go away. the chirp that is.

Yes, on sheave does move back and forth. Cant say about the chirp, does it work ok?
Yes Todd, seems to work OK, but then again, I have nothing to compare it to. Smooth take offs, and in low gear, the ebs engages nicely. After I installed it, I revved the engine to engage the sheaves. When I backed off and the rpm dropped the belt stopped. Did it a couple of times. Same thing. Thought maybe I had to run it to keep the belt engaged, so, I buttoned it up and went for a ride. That's when I experienced the chirping/whining. Went out again today. Chirping/whining seem to come on after I drive it a ways. The 2 rides were short, due to freezing temps and spiting snow/rain. When the weather clears a little, I'll take it for a good spin and remove the clutch cover. Let you know what happens. And, thanks for the fast service. :encouragement:.
