I am wiring up my winch and was curious what most are doing. For the negative and positive should I run directly to the battery terminals or to the OEM terminal under the hood?

from what I'm reading from this site its best to go to the battery. put the contactor under the hood then from there to the winch.. if I am getting it right LOL some have even said put a CB in line for the winch

So selenoid under hood directly to battery terminals with no inline fuse? Where is the best place to run the thin red wire from the remote outlet......to the terminal keyed hot under the hood then?

from what I've heard there is not a need to put an inline fuse for the battery cables. the red wire should go to a keyed power source

You can wire to the OEM terminal bar under the hood or directly to the battery. Like ND said, simpler to go straight to the battery. If you do elect to the OEM terminal bar, you will probably need to order (or make) a harness that goes from the battery to the term bar - I believe that the Polaris winch kit has that harness. If you look closely at you terminal bar now, you will probably discover that the two bottom lugs are dead, although since you have the Polaris heater, it may have come with the batt-to-terminal bar harness (??).
