if you could figure out a way to get a gear one rack and pinion in there that would be the best... Im pretty sure they don't make them for a 900 ranger but I havent check to be sure.
thanks for the replys guys. wicked bilt said they on backorder and couldnt even give me an et... fixin to look into gear one this is first ive heard of them

Gear one is high dollar but the best by far - hopefully they make one for the 900
Gear One does not make one for the Ranger only the RZR.
I have called them several times in the last couple of years to see if they would produce one for the Rangers.
I do not think there has been enough interest to persuade them otherwise.
thats crazy as many lifted rangers ive seen i know mine isnt the only one wearing out

I have 2 rides on mine and its wearing out - I may try to get somebody to fab a plate to mount that gear one rack on - I hear rackzillas break pretty easily too

You will probably need to have tie rods made or cut down the ones that come in the kit, I believe the ones for the RZR are longer.
Keep us posted if you try it.

I have not seen many posts on here about the rackzilla.

Just looking at the pics of the rackzilla, it doesn't look any different than the OEM, other than the Heim joints and inner tie rods.
It looks to be the same housing, so not sure what would be heavy duty about it.
from looking at parts diagrams it looks like the shaft that connects to the steering is angled on the rzr rack and straight in the ranger rack. im gonna go check out my dads rzr tomorrow and see if it looks like i can get them to interchange if so ill order the gear rack setup. i noticed they sell them for rhinos and teryx i wonder if those units would have the shorter tie rods?

Good point, I forgot to mention the pinion gear location/angle.
Also I read somewhere that the steering ratio is different between the ranger and RZR, but can't confirm at this time.
Either shortening the tie rods that come in the kit or have gear one make you a set, after you have determined the proper length.
The rackzilla is on backorder till around February 12th. I just ordered mine through a PRC sponsor hunterworks. My Ranger has 163hrs on it on the Rack is pretty work out from big tires and lift. It's pretty sloppy right now.
ok so i went over and checked out my dads rzr 900xp '--13 model i think--today and to me it looked like the rack would almost bolt up as far as the bolt placement on the two, the rzr has removable bolts mine off my ranger the bolts dont come out of the rack

the shaft is in close to same place and same angle too.
the housing on the rzr rack is shaped a bit different to clear the front driveshaft. I didn't bust out a tape or anything but i think it is close enough it will work
also it looked like the tie rods were same length? gonna check it with a tape tomorrow like i said it looks damn close on everything so im gonna try it
also i wouldnt mind having a quicker steering ratio anyways.. if the rzr is different surely it's quicker I would think

im gonna order a gear one setup tomorrow and the bolts for the polaris rack ill report back soon as i get everything in. ill probably overnight everything so i should be able to get everything for this weekend

Glad to hear you're trying this - I was going to do the same thing once my stock rack wears out. Let us know how it works!

Please post pics.
the gear one unit bolts right up. all i had to do was file the tip of the front diff approx 1/8". the tie rods included are too long. i would order shorter ones but i wanna ride tomorrow so im gonna cut these off and rethread them. im sure you could order with shorter ones. i also had to drill the spindle out to a 1/2" hole to bolt the heim joints up. this setup is way heavier duty than stock glad i went with it. i havent got to drive it yet to check steering ratio im in town getting these tie rods cut and retapped right now.

Me too! I am so jealous!

Keep us posted Wes.

Wes, before you install unit, would you take some pics of the ends with the rack extended. I am wanting to look at the ends of the housing.

The Gear One unit looks to have outer rack bushings on both ends, making its linear movement more stable. The OEM unit has a nylon bushing only on one side, allowing the rack to flex, losing steering feel.

Most all of the upgraded tie rods are requiring you to drill out the front spindle holes to 1/2 for the heim joints.
ok so it now just takes 1-1/4 turns full lock to lock. way quicker steering this is gonna be so nice in tight places
