I was about to send the W-9 back today and noticed that there is no identification on what it is for. There is a place for all my personal information but nothing about the Ranger. I can't see why finance would have a clue what they are looking at when they open my envelope. I was thinking maybe it should be sent to Bryce or someone he designates.

Also, I need to know what specific color of Red is used on the WE ?

I was wondering if there would be any possibility to set me up with contact to utilize from a technical standpoint ? I presently have a question in the project section that I am 90% certain of how to answer. The fella installed LED's on an older model so I know he needs to add a High/Low light switch but what I don't don't is if Polaris offers any electrical harness modifications as a kit or if the guy just needs to run an additional wire. How valuable would it be if I could bounce questions worded in a fashion that drills down to a level an engineer could relate to and then very accurately answer members. Polaris could remain anonymous of course.
Just a thought I have always had.

And while your at it see if you can get a feel on Bruce's/Polaris's opinion how the project is being handled if you can slip it into the conversation ?

Neal,

I pretty sure that is the way they look for the Rangers we give away at rallies. It is not an agreement of a tax, just gives Polaris the right to pass on to IRS where their "gift" of the Ranger went. I had to do one for the first project Ranger. I then listed the ranger on my income tax, because gifts are income. I later had to pay sales tax of $600 too. They value the gift at their cost I believe, because on mine after I sent in the w-9 I received a MSO, manufacturer's statement of origin, which showed the HD as valued at $10K. They were selling for around $13K at the time.

Yea,I am aware of how it works, I am probably not explaining clearly. If I mailed this paper to finance as directed I see no way they would know why they are receiving it unless they are expecting to see one with Neal Hangers name on it (which I doubt). There is no identification as what machine the W-9 is for. I think someone working in finance will need to know why Neal Hanger mailed them a W-9.

Ok Neal, now I know what you are asking. Randy will have to talk to Bryce and find out how to get it to the right person and let them know that you are receiving it for PRC.

Guys,

We got hammered with snow last night (20"~) and as a result I've been out grooming and getting stuck all day :x . I'm just home to sleep and then back out first thing in the morning. I won't have time to address these items until either tomorrow night or more likely Friday. I gotta cover for another groomer driver tomorrow. Never did his route before so it could be a very long day.

Hope none of it is a rush. I'll make a note for myself and get at it as soon as I catch a break. Goodnite.. :)

BTW....I agree that the W-9 should go back to Polaris with some sort of guidance as to its reference. I'm confident Bryce can help us with this. I also like the idea of you (Neal) talking directly with a Polaris tech.

Update:

Just getting ready to head out on the tractor for the day, but wanted you guys to know that I composed and sent an email to Bryce already this morning that addresses the above matters. I also told him that I'll be unavailable all day and not to expect return correspondence until tonight or tomorrow. As soon as I hear something I'll let you know.

Wish me luck today, guys. I'm heading out on trails I've never groomed before and with this 20"~ of newly fallen snow, it should be interesting. If you can imagine what the road crossings might looking like following a storm like this, you will understand my angst. I'll be going over/through banks of snow that are 6'-8' tall and more. Yesterday, I was climbing one of our biggest hills on the system, along side of which is a significant drop-off. About a third of the way up, I lost traction and had to back down the hill. This is an extremely challenging manuever in snow that deep while pulling an 18' long, 3K-4k pound drag. Needless to say, I strapped on my seatbelt  .

Neal,

Per Bryce:

Hi Randy,

Neal can send me the W9 he can either fax it or e-mail it. My Fax # is 763-513-3483.

Attached you should find what you need for paint codes. If this doesn’t work let me know. I’ll check with the product manager and see if he can recommend someone for Neal to talk with in regards to the build. Which by the way is coming along nicely! I’ll get you some more feedback from the rest of the team.

Thanks Randy,

Bryce

Neal....I forwarded to you the actual email so that you have Bryce's email address as well as the fax number. Let me know if there's anything else :)

BTW...that other paint code is for the Liquid Silver XP4 900 that Curt is getting (wasn't it him that was looking for the paint on that machine?)

Yes Randy, Curt was looking for the paint code on the XP4 as well. Did you send it to him?

No, I didn't, Bruce. I don't want to send him the whole email, so maybe I can just copy the code and get it to him?

Cool. As I posted in the Management section, Bryce is passing your email address along to one of the Ranger engineers so that you two can discuss the Project build. If you would, please let us know if/when he contacts you and how the discussion goes.

Oh sure Randy, that is what I meant, just the paint code. Maybe you could PM him or text it to him?

Yep....I got the paint codes to Curt, and asked him to keep them with 'us,' so to speak.

Sure will and thanks. I think an inside line to the "nuts and bolts" will be a great benefit.
