As you know I went on a quest (outside of PRC of course) for tires and wheels. The wheels are a done deal and I must say I done well, these wheels are very cool. But on the tire front I was not able to obtain totally free tires. Interco offered me a buy two/two free deal thats not bad but it's still $500 from me. I did sell the OEM tires and wehlls yesterday for $450 but I think that money will barely cover the graphics work and I still want to load this thing up with LED accents underneath. I even hoped to do the compressed air thing but the Hanger's are trying to budget our expendatures. We are in no means struggling, just apprehensive. Anyway, looking this AM I see several vendors here that have suitable tires and wondered with Gary's permission if you could check them out for a donation. They need to be 30" tall (or close) and wee need three of the front tires as the spare on the baja rack is part of the look I am shooting for. If Gary is OK with the idea I will make a list of vendors and suitable tires they handle.

Also, I can't remember how we left the RangerWare window issue. I will be glad to contact Jeff if someone can share contact info.

I was wondering if Polaris has rattle cans of the red used on the Walker Evans and could Bryce get me a half dozen cans ? I am thinking since I will have to repaint the baja bars for the bed painting them the matching red would be cool. There is also some other small items I would to turn red.

Lastly, should we ask about the missing three wheels ? I realize this would be touchy since we aren't using them but have concerns of shipping issues. Maybe it would be a good way to broach the subject and let him know they will be utilized on the previous show Ranger. Just a thought.

Regarding the red paint, I'll ask Bryce about it. My hunch is that all he'll be able to get us is the paint code?? We should have that with the color charts Bryce sent us. I believe each color is represented by a part number?? At any rate, I'll ask Bryce about it.

And absolutely, I'm happy to solicit a vendor or two for tires. Just let me know what ones you're looking for and who I should call.

Regarding contacting Jeff at RW, I agree that you should make that call so that you can explain the exact situation. But if you need/want my help, let me know. I just looked to see if I have Jeff's email address and I don't (thought surely that I did :? )

I'm cool with Randy checking on the Tires for you Neal. Also, when you get the wheels for the first show Ranger I will pay the shipping to get them from you to me. As long as we are using the wheels for one of our show Rangers I don't think we need to inform Polaris, except maybe to ask when they are being shipped.

Also, try to get tires first from non-sponsors if you can. Our sponsors are getting edgy about gas and economy issues and I'm having hard enough time holding them without asking for more.

If we are forced to draw from within our sponsors, please time the requests AFTER they have paid their six month invoices, so they have a few months to heal before their next billing.

I did check with my Sister in law this AM and the three wheels still have not arrived.

They have prices so I assumed they indeed do sell it but maybe not. I would give you the exact part # but I am still at a loss to find exactly what red it is. Indy red looks the closest to me but I cannot find anything to confirm my hunch. The quart container might be a good choice, I could then mask off the doors and cab and paint the red on rather pay for graphics. If we can get a quart and it IS Indy red here the numbers :

I had emailed Bryce a while back regarding the paint and backordered wheels, but hadn't heard back. So this morning, I re-sent the email. Here's his reply:

Hi Randy,



I could have sworn I replied to this e-mail originally, in fact I think I had it drafted and must have accidentally closed out of it…anyway, what I was originally going to say was that I think the best thing to do for Paint is have Neal go to the local dealer, they may even have it in stock. Either way they will be able to help out a lot faster as they have all the necessary systems in place to quickly get what you need.


As far as the wheels go I’ll have Karen take a look at the order, if they were backordered and cancelled I’ll have a new order placed today.
