Sorry to bring this up again, but couldn't find it by doing a search. Weren't some reporting a rattle on the 900 coming from the bed somewhere? I have one that kicks in at higher rpms.. around 5000 and up. Could swear it was a heat shield but haven't had any luck diagnosing it. Even the little shield on top of the motor that normally comes loose is nice and tight. Suggestions? I hate hate HATE rattles.

Latch for the bed maybe?

My guess would be either the heat shield vibrating or a bed latch. The shield on top of the engine is notorious for rattling on the end that is not secured to the frame..

Not too sure about the 900, my 2014 FS 800 rattles the tailgate latch.

If it's neither of the above (and chances are that it will be one of those), take a look at the tailgate latches.
my tailgate latches rattled bad on my old 800

I will bet it is the heat sheild. Lift up the bed and that little metal plate over your header is probably loose. The metal screws get really joy and they are threaded into plastic. I've seen countless heatsheilds fall completely off. I replaced mine with bolting through.
