I tried a search and could not find the answer. I know it's been asked before but can someone point me to a source for a lighted rocker switch that fits the Ranger cutouts. I want to use it for an auxillary lighting installation.

Thanks.

OK I knew if I look hard enough I would find the place that had the nicest switches you can order them with the Legend on them. They are $9.99 Ea.

I got my switches from 4x4 Mods. They appear well made and look great. In the instructions they mention running these with a relay. Can anyone recommend a relay to use with the switches?

Thanks

You can stop by any auto parts place and just purchase one of the fog light relays. Usually, the contacts are rated at 30 amps. I would put only 2 lights to a relay to be safe and just in case a set of contacts go out, you wouldn't lose all your lights if you happen to have a set of four lights.

Figure at leaset 8 amps for each light... times 4 for 32 amps. Two 30amp relays should do you or you get a 40 amp relay for about 6 bucks, but I like the idea of two 30 amp relays instead.

If you want, you can still just use one switch when using two relays, just have it pick up both at the same time. Or you could have one switch per relay. The idea with 2 relays is for backup emergency plan. Never put all your marbles in one bag if you are going to be by yourself or way out in the boonies.

i have 6 across the top of my truck.. i know it's bad but theyve all been on a single relay for over 2 years.. i keep meaning to break them up, but still havent.. if a 30 amp relay will run 6 for that long, you should definately be able to run 4..
for relays if you go to autozone you can buy the pilot brand relays their ok or, there's a place in addison, tx called alltex electronics i get them there they also sell some really nice relay harnesses and their cheap.. i'm not sure if their on the website www.alltex.com if their not you can call and order them. if you live close by, you can just go in there.. i think the harnesses are 2 bux and the relays are 4.. i buy em out of em everytime i'm in there.. they're really nice.
