Picked up my RZR yesterday.

List price, added the 12" chrome wheels using stock tires, $ 79 each.
Front and rear bumper are coming.

This is my first side x side. Have ridden dirtbikes, three wheelers and now four wheelers. Have owned from utility to racer and everything in between. 5 motorcycles, 2 three wheelers and over 10 4 wheelers.

First impressions, Lots of fun. My wife really loves it. Can see many afternoons cruising with her freinds. Fit and finish are good.
No rough edges, seems put together well. Rode about 2 1/2 hours yesterday. Bumps, jumps, a little mud. Very smooth. Am definately going to have to play with the gas petal. Going over whoops you just
cant keep a constant pressure. 2 wheel drive turns much better in the sand. 4 wheel seems to work like it is supposed to. Door nets are a joke. Not a good system at all. My knee slips right through the hole between the upper and lower net. I think I am going to combine the two nets into one, sew them together somehow. Either that
or if somebody comes out with a nice door. I am 5"10 and moved the seat all the way back. Leg room is ok, but could use more. I think some kind of floor mat that gives you a little grip would help. Performance wise I have nothing to compare too. It does go fast.
Being it is so smooth and you are strapped in, it doesn't feel like your going super fast. I took some pretty good whoops at about 45 mph. Handled it well. Didnt really get a chance to do any cookies and feel the stability, but overall I'd say it seems stable. I'm sure
on black dirt you could crank it and tip it over. Lower profile tire and offset rims would help that alot. Noise level is a little more than I would prefer. Not loud, but loud enough. We have it at our cabin with lots of other cabins around. It is definatley louder than
any other 4 wheeler out there. Noise in the cabin is fine. You can talk at cruising speed no problem. Needs rear view mirrors. Nice high seat backs make it hard to turn your head. Gear shift is good, but would like to see a zig zag type system. Where you pull it all the way back and your in H, then you have to push it over and back again your in L. Like in most cars with a floor shift. Got the grind once or twice. Definately NO shift on the fly. Stop completely to change gears. Always stayed in gear. Does have engine braking. Actually a little to much. IF you get going 30 or 40 and then just
back off the gas, it really slows you down. Maybe after the belt wears in a little it won't be so bad. Steering is easy and quick with a tight turning radius. Didn't have any problems staying on some tight atv trails. Roll bar height is no higher than a person on a good sized atv. Didn't have any problems getting under branches or limbs. Actually just kept on the gas and let them slide over the top!

Well thats my mini review. sorry to just ramble! Have a nice three day weekend, I'm sure I'll put on some miles and I will report back
on Tuesday!

We have a cabin at a very small lake. We are allowed atv's, golf carts and now, side x sides. It is not really loud, but it is louder
than anything else out there. I'm sure most of it is just engine size. Most of our 4 wheelers are in the 300 to 500cc range. Golf carts are electric so they make no noise. I would try it before you make any major changes.

on the engine braking thing.. i put over 200 miles on mine over the weekend in the sand and here's what i saw as far as belt break in.. at first the belt was stiff and when you let off the gas it would try and throw you through the windshield.. also it seems the machine only has two speeds slow and fast.. after a while it starts to get better (as the belt breaks in) you start to feel the clutch pulleys working and the belt moves more freely after about 100 miles the belt got where it was sticking a little (didnt want to disengage when you stopped) after it got through that little phase it got even better as far as the variable speed. it also seems to have gotten a little faster and it definatiely gets out of the hole in the sand better than it did..
the throttle is touchy, but you will get used to it.. at first in my mind i was saying "im gonna put in a stiffer spring when i get this home" but as i drove it i got used to it and it's pretty easy to control now.. you can still hear it fluctuate when you go over bumps where your foot is bouncing on the pedal, but not bad..

it is kind of loud but more than that it sounds like a boat.. it seems to do all of it's big speed changes in about 1200 rpms so the motor always seems to be around the same rpm's.. (why it sounds like a boat)

after your belt is broken in, you still have very limited engine braking i.e. it lets go pretty quick.. i pretty much got used to this it came in really handy for backing down the dunes when the sand was so soft my tires wouldnt let me get to the top.. you just put it in reverse and back up.. you can then let off of the gas and it will freewheel. when you feel like it's maybe going too fast down the hill just give it a little gas and the belt catches you easy. and it keeps you straight.. if you're stopping too hard, and maybe trying to slide a little sideways just give it more gas and it straightens right up..
it works the same way going forward..
let your belt get broken in (it takes a while) and get used to it.. i think you'll like it.. when i first got in mine i really liked it.. but the more i drove it and the more i got used to it, i like it more and more.. i cant wait to see how it is on dirt.. so far it's only seen dunes and my alley :)
