These days, when you mention the name "RANGER" the words that follow will most certainly be RUGGED, RELIABLE and RACING!
Big News #1 - The Polaris RANGER won the UTV Class in the 2007 SCORE Tecate Baja 250. The RANGER XP showed its rugged reliability with a winning time under 7 hours, and became the first official UTV finisher in the Baja record book!
Big News #2-The all-new RANGER RZR made its very first race appearance, competing in the 2007 Terrible's Town 250, held in Pahrump, Nevada. A 250 mile loop race, it is one of the most grueling competitions in the Best In The Desert Series. Of the 13 entrants in Class 1900 (U.V.) -- 12 of which were highly modified Yamaha Rhinos -- just four finished, including the basically stock RANGER RZR. Click here to see the actual machine.
Big News #3-Polaris is proud to announce that the RANGER RZR has been named Side-By-Side Of The Year by ATV Magazine. This is the first year ATV Magazine has presented an award in the SxS category. It's more proof that the new RANGER RZR has raised the bar with its razor-sharp performance!

I know I wil get slammed for this, but remember I am a future RZR owner (hopefully in the next week or two!). Rewarding them with the Award as ATV of the year, as originally posted in the title of the thread would be very impressive (although I have to say easily a reasonable choice)(EDIT: THE ORIGINAL POSTER HAS CHANGED THE NAME OF THE THREAD FROM ATV OF THE YEAR TO THE CORRECT SXS OF THE YEAR SINCED I POSTED THIS- NOT KNOWING THAT MIGHT MAKE MY REPLY CONFUSING). The actual copy of the email posted though says it was SXS of the year, which only an idiot would not see as the logical choice considering it's the only all new SXS introduced in the last few years. Since most of these awards are for "new" or significantly updated" models, I see this a a good marketing tool for Polaris, but hardly a coup.
