Better yet, use a fitting that is threaded on one side and barbed on the other. Drill out the existing hole to accept the threaded side of the fitting, then screw a nut down on the back (bottom) side......assuming there is a large enough flat area to do that. Then you won't have to worry about stripping the threads out of potentially delicate plastic.You could drill and use a pipe tap then screw in a new fitting.

Looks like it will work, but have no clue where to locate one in person. Only place on www I found had to buy 50 each.
