You could drill and use a pipe tap then screw in a new fitting.
Better yet, use a fitting that is threaded on one side and barbed on the other. Drill out the existing hole to accept the threaded side of the fitting, then screw a nut down on the back (bottom) side......assuming there is a large enough flat area to do that. Then you won't have to worry about stripping the threads out of potentially delicate plastic.

Jerry you got me thinking about what kind of fitting and about the only thing that may work is a bulk head fitting if they make one small enough, now I'm kind of guessing here but this tube has to be the outlet and will have a tube connected on the back side for pick up but either way the smallest one I have seen is 1/2in. You could also weld in a new fitting but that's a bit touchy. If you think it might strip use a nylon fitting. Plumbing fitting Plastic Pipe

HERE...get one of these, you'll also need the tap and drill bit for proper drilling and tapping!

Walbro Fuel Pump Fitting 128 3012 Bundy Fitting Fits GSL392 | eBay

Ya gotta cut the HARD plastic tube off the bottom side of the "TOP" of the sending unit. just cut off VERY minimal amount. THEN...that tube will JUST START onto the bottom of that bundy fitting once you have it screwed down in and sealed. Once that tube starts onto the threads, it'll twist on..trust me. its SUPER DOOPER, ULTRA MEGA TIGHT...but it'll work great. Spin the whole tube untill ya got ALL the threads covered, and then for extra insurance, put a hose clamp on it.. one of those High Pressure style clamps. Then install it back on the buggy and plug your fuel line onto it. i put "JB WELD" on the top of mine to make dang sure it was sealed but i dont think i needed it. THe Fitting itself is a strait thread fitting..its designed to be used with a copper washer...so buy one of those too. I beleive an M10 copper washer will be perfect as if i recall correctly, this is an M10 fitting.

Its been on mine since i screwed my sneding unit up..and ive had NO problems at all. None!

Yeap, something like that is exactly what I'm talking about. Go to the hardware store and check out the plumbing section. I nearly guarantee you'll find something that will work.
