Hey folks. I’ve got a problem with the shift cable on my 2014 Polaris Ranger Diesel that I hope someone can assist me with on here. I’ve tried to google it but nothing available online. Here’s what’s going on:

I was plowing snow the other day when the gear shift on the dash went non-responsive. It is completely floppy at the moment. I manually shifted the ranger back to reverse and can shift up to LOW (can’t shift to high gear) but when I get there, the shifter goes floppy again and I have to manually shift back to reverse. So....essentially, I can shift from reverse to neutral to low gear but then the shifter is non-responsive.

Has anyone experienced this before? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Check out this video, it may help:
Before you pull the old cable somehow or other tie / bind the new cable to the old and then just one pull is needed to get the new cable in place.
