Spring rubs on sway bar

For anyone that has Super ATV arched rear arms and has moved the rear shocks to the outer holes: How close are the springs to the sway bar ends? The measurement from the a arm mounting points to the spring mounting point is slightly longer (1/4”) on the super ATV arms than the stock arms that came on the machine (‘22 xp1000 Northstar). This makes the spring closer to the sway bar and it actually rubs on one side. Super Atv is sort of working with me on it but, as usual, it seems like they’ve never heard of the problem before

Many were havin that issue on their machines with stock arms and the shock in the outer mounts for a couple model years. You can try rotating the springs 180 degrees to see if it helps. Are you running a lift?

Yeah I do, over pretty gnarly terrain. When I got the machine I moved one side to the outer and left one side on the inner, put about 600lbs in the bed and drove around making tight turns, etc. noticed a world of difference. I’ll probably do the same experiment with the S3s. Doing the same test on the front didn’t seem to make any difference though.

Would ride much better than stiffer springs on factory shocks.

But I would highly recommend elka stage 2's. Call Ishock. You'll speak to Darren. He will take various information from you about your machine. And your riding style and what you expect. And then have a set of shocks custom valved and sprung for your application. Not an off the shelf one size fits all. It takes a month for them to be built. But worth the wait.

The shocks with remote reservoirs might look cool. And elka has those also if you step up in price. But suit no purpose on a ranger.
