So I have been looking for a while to try and figure out how to make the stock tail/brake lights into turn signals, from what I have found you can but not a real detailed description on what exactly to do. and no pics. I am a visual guy it dont sound to difficult but would like some pics if possible. I have a 2014 full size 800.

I have just done that on my 900 crew. I used a kit that I bought from eBay that I absolutely loved.

Polaris Ranger 900XP Street Legal Dot Kit Turn Signal Horn Ranger 900XP Crew | eBay

It was a great kit, but I did make a few changes as it requires you to cut some of the factory wires, and I did not want to do that. There is a wire that you have to tap into off of the brakes in the front, so I made a t-harnes using the same factory plugs that I found here...

Home » Shop » Connectors / Harnesses » Delphi / Packard » Connector Kits » GM Delphi / Packard - 2-way GT 150 3.5mm centerline (sensor side) sealed connector Kit for CLT/VSS (production kit)

Then you have to separate the orange wire that makes the brakes come on in the harness in the rear to be controlled separately to allow for right & left turn signals. I did not want to cut & splice that connection either so I remade the harness using these plugs...

The "brain" to this kit takes ownership of your brake lights by controlling the orange wire to each of the lights and passes power to both of them when you apply your brakes, or pluses the power to make the blinking.

I know that this is not a post with detailed pictures, but I have all of that stuff already installed & if looks so factory that you could not really see anything if I did take pictures. I do have a little of the information about my wiring project here...

I'd be happy to help as I can if you go down this path, but I would recommend that kit as it had great instructions & the owner was very helpful as I asked a few questions.

If you decide to go without the kit, Here's my short quick thread i started a while back. It has the part number of the light converter you'll need.

Yes, that is a great kit (I almost went that way because of them being a sponsor), but I wanted to use the factory brake lights to leave the space above/below them to put clear LED's as backup lights, so that is what pushed me the direction that I went.

This is one of the greatest parts of these things is all of the options to make it your own.

Thanks for all your info, I am starting to get more positive I can do it!! I have it in my head but trying to type it out will be hard...lol
So I want to use the indicator lights on the speedo sooo
I have to get power to them so would I need to come from the fuse block to the switch then to the flasher to speedo then back to tail lights? is that right? or am I way off??
I tried to find a wire schematic for my 2014 ranger but cant seem to find one.

That is also one of the benefits of the kit that I used. It comes with the correct pins to insert into the harness that plugs into the speedo & wires into the brain to turn them on. They do not flash, but they do light up, so you know that they are on.
I am sure they are nice but I dont have 300.00 to spend on a kit. that is why I am asking for help.lol
I did not know they will not flash on the speedo. that is good to know. i found that the pins to use are the 6&7 I also found connectors that work good with them pins. getting closer to divin in.
my speedo indicators flash on mine. Make sure ya get an LED flasher, and an LED compatible brain box. That'll eliminate all chances of failure for stuff not working properly.

Tip - when you wire your flasher, hook it up to a 'keyed hot' source, not a 'hot always' source. My flasher drew power all the time until I switched the source - killed my battery!
can I just use a 2 prong led flasher or do I need a 3 prong? will this converter work? http://www.amazon.com/Hopkins-48895...19042734&sr=1-2&keywords=tail+light+converter

Once I get this mod done I am going to do the cab build that I saw on here!! http://www.prcforum.com/forum/52-ranger-projects-write-ups-photos/39262-homemade-cab.html

then....LED lights.!!! this could get very bad for me... wife is already sick of my excitement about the turn signals.

so this is how I should do it?

So I was looking at the wiring tonight and saw these extra wires. I am assuming they are run back from factory for the turn signals? does anyone else know or have these?

Those are for backup light wiring. Whole different project. lol
Well what the heck WagZ's another project..lol were do they run to in the front?
So I can hook up a light to them and I would have back up light?

Yes, but there is a little voltage on them, so if you use LED's then they will stay on without a relay. There are several post on the forum about backup lights. It is a great modification. I used the 4 LED's from Oznium.

If I remember correctly, those wires were originally intended for the reverse warning buzzer. Polaris sells it as an accessory.
Thanks I will add that to my list of stuff to do after I get the turn signals done!!!
