IMPORTANT SAFETY STOP RIDE NOTICE
December 12, 2022
Dan,
Polaris Industries Inc. is issuing a Stop Ride notice to affected owners of some Model Year 2021-2023 RANGER XP 1000 / XP 1000 Crew and RANGER 1000 / 1000 Crew vehicles because we have determined that some vehicles may develop a fuel leak at the fuel pump outlet connector on the fuel tank due to the supplier’s manufacturing process. The potential leak area is in close proximity to a potential ignition source, posing a fire hazard and risk of serious injury. Polaris has informed the Consumer Product Safety Commission about the issue.
Our records indicate that you are the owner of a RANGER with VIN 4XARSK999M845XXXX affected by Safety Recall R-22-03.
Polaris is currently evaluating a repair for this concern. At the time of availability, Polaris will notify dealers and reply to you by mail (and email). This work will be performed by your dealer at no cost to you.
Polaris will send you an update by the end of 2022.
Owner Next Steps:
  • DO NOT OPERATE YOUR VEHICLE until this safety recall has been completed by your dealer.
  • Visit our Product Safety Recall web page to verify if your off-road vehicle is impacted by this safety recall. Search for the model or vehicle identification number (VIN) on the site to confirm.
  • Do not attempt repairs yourself. Repairs must be done by an authorized Polaris dealer. Your local dealer can be found on our Dealer Locator web page.
  • Your Polaris dealer is in the best position to answer your questions, but you may also contact our Polaris Owners Connections Department at 1-800-765-2747 to speak with a representative.
We will keep you updated on our next steps and apologize for the inconvenience. Polaris assures you that we are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.
Thank you for being a Polaris owner.

I plan on using it the week after Christmas. I guess I'll carry a fire extinguisher. It's unfortunate that they don't have a solution and it's worse that the dealer is a 90 minute round trip.

Sounds like a dumb move after knowing about the potential hazards.

I would talk to your dealer. Unless you can't use any tools, I bet you can do a temporary fix/permanent fix yourself.

Just making a guess, but it could be as simple as the fuel hose routing.

I can, but if it was that easy they wouldn't say they expect to have a solution over two weeks after the problem was discovered.

One thing i learned with the throttle pedal recall was not to bring it in unless they have a part in hand. They are not supposed to release it back to you should it be brought in and there is nothing available to make the fix. Not sure if you have experienced this or read it before, but just wanted to pass it along. Thankfully my dealer was up front and told me this before I dropped it off.

Two weeks to cover the solution plus writing the instructions, and getting the instructions to their dealers along with any parts if required. Of course, there would also have to be time to get the wording approved, and uploaded to any websites, etc.
