So here's the deal, Polaris' bushings are absolute garbage and only last a few hundred miles at best. They're tolerances are crap as well, resulting in tons of play and it drives me nuts. I've replaced all the rears twice in my 6x6 and it's pointless.

I called SuperDave's today to get a quote and to do every single a-arm bushing and sleeve (inners and outers for all 12 a-arms), plus the bushings and sleeves for all 6 shocks it's $644. It's a chunk of change but I'm getting tired of the play in all my suspension parts, it's rediculous.

For anyone that's ran the SD bushings, how long do they really last? Is 1,500 miles realistic in muddy conditions? Is that too optimistic?

I too share your frustrations with polaris's POS bushings. Even the ones I've drilled for grease don't seem to be holding up very well. I've been looking at all balls lately. Have you looked at what they're doing? They're replacing every bushing/sleeve with an actual bearing in it's place. That's gotta be a better setup, doesn't it? especially if it's greased.

Best of luck to you sir.!

I would make my own if I had access to a lathe to turn both the bushings and the sleeves. Im half tempted to just cut the ends off all the a-arms and modify them to use automotive style bushings. That would be even cheaper and more durable in the long run. I'm in the process of taking the Ranger completely apart so I'll see what I can come up with. Lots of work to do in the next couple months.

Lemme get a new stock bushing for measurements. He's got a buddy over at CAC so we can get some freeby material and I'll see what I can come up with.

I have plenty of stockers if you need one...i also have an extra long metal sleeve and bolt you can take too...that's the real issue to fix, there's so much slop in between there new bushings wont do anything for you with that mess rattling around...if he can fix that for me i'll pay for all the materials for everyones new bushings :)....seriously...

This is super simple to set up in file. Just basic measurements with a caliper.

Ballpark, how much extra shoulder you think it needs? That should help stop the sleeve from yoking out, which has been my issue on the rear side of the upper.

Swap the end around and reinstalled.

I think i'm not explaining it well...there is slop inside the long metal sleeve between it an the long bolt... Front upper a-arms...

The slop is present on a brand new bolt sleeve combo...a bolt that was just a little bit fatter would fix the issue....so your buddy would need to make a UHMW sleeve that can fit into the metal sleeve but still accept a bolt... :)

Holy crap, that's high! I've been using SD bushings for a while and don't think I paid much more than $100 for the front A-arms. I would think that the ones for your 6x6 would only be about 3 times more???

You shouldn't have any problems getting over 1500 miles out of them if you keep them greased. If your 6x6 does not have zerks in all locations, I highly recommend adding them the next time you change bushings. You bushing life will more than double (probably more than triple) from that mod' alone.

Keep in mind the 6x6 uses 88 bushings and 40 sleeves. That's for all the a-arms and shocks. I have a few other ideas im going to look into after work.

Exactly, I replaced the front a-arm bushings with Delrin bushings and the bolts rattle in the pipe sleeves. As long as this slop is inside the sleeves, it gets worked from the git go.........
