I'm looking at a new ranger crew 900 EPS camo. This machine comes with a street legal kit and a roof. I have them talked down to $16,400 out the door. MSRP is $16,199ish... Is this about par considering the roof and street legal kit?

I was also wondering if the 900 EPS is really that much better than the 570 EPS... From what I can tell it's about a $3k difference. I realize there will be a difference in power but I can't compare the two in a real world scenario before I buy.

This will be my first sxs and mostly used on trail rides and occasionally hunting applications. I'm hesitant about the 570 because I'd want to keep up with my buddy's rzr 900. Fwiw I'm not interested in a rzr, I need the cargo space and don't want to lug a small trailer behind it. Sorry if this has been covered before but I'm looking to buy this week. Main concern is if I get the 570 will I get bored with it and want more power?

I think the 570 is very strong for its size, and will be adequate....BUT...

That part about keeping up with your buddy's 900 worries me. Your not going to keep up with a RZR if he knows how to drive the thing and likes to prove it, but you certainly stand a better chance with the 900.
I'm not a horsepower junky at all, and would normally be quite willing to recommend the 570, but from the way you are talking, i think the 900 will be worth the money to you in the long run.

Thanks, I should probably clarify on that. I'm not a dune guy and not looking to get in drag races with rzr's. We mainly go to Boulders OHV park, back way to Crown King and a lot of trips to the rim country in the summer time. My wife likes the 900 because it has a center console..LOL... but I'm not sold on the $3k price difference.

I would get the 900 and not look back. In no way is this a knock on the 570 as I'm very satisfied with the power or ability of my crew. I believe, however, you will have a challenge keeping-up with him trail riding as the RZR will be more nimble than a "polair bus on wheels". I'm not beating on the crew, own one myself, but the units are long and navigating in the woods is considerably different vs. RZR, but a good drag race on a gravel road should be fun for both of you :)

I would say it comes down to what your ultimate plans are with it. Do you plan on putting lift and tires? If you aren't going with a large tire I would guess that the 570 has enough pulling power for your utility use, hunting and even towing a small trailer. I know the 900 is a good bit more expensive, but if you're unsure I like to go with the ol' "Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it." I'd hate for you to have any regrets a month or two down the road.

A ranger isn't gonna even come close to keeping up with a razor buy what you wAnt and have fun if it's 570 u can still do everything u wana do your not racing so who caress about speed and power

The money sounds resonable . Roughly what I had in mine . I use mine on the farm and a mild trial ride every now and then, 900 is great, more than enough power but the length can be aggavating at times! Good luck and enjoy!!!

That is not a bad price, not for here anyways.

This is my experience, and its not exactly apples to apples but, I just came out of a 2012 500 Midsize, 100% factory and the 800's and 900 crews could not come close to catching me, on accel or top end.
I went everywhere they could and many places they couldn't go, but mine was NOT a crew and theirs were, so my short wheelbase helped tremendously. Never had a power issue at all on the 500, not in rock climbing, regular trails, or working it on the ranch. Never went mudding in it tho. NEITHER of mine would come close to keeping up with a RZR, plain and simple. Just toodling around back trails sure, but if the RZR wanted to cut loose, well, I was left in the dust and many times had to back up cause I couldn't go down the same trail. The crew will have tons more storage and cargo space regardless. Just more places to stuff things. My 500 was very limited to a few small places.

I don't think you would be disappointed in the 570 but nobody can really make the decision for you. Its ashame you can't try both first.

I upgraded to a 900 Crew LE EPS for that extra room for the grandkids and kids and I love it. It is so much more quiet it's not even funny, chassis wise and engine wise. Am I glad I upgraded, YES, but it also came with drawbacks. I had to immediately put on a 2" lift and 28" tires just to quit dragging bottom everywhere with this long wheelbase, but that is the crew part and it's expected. I can't sport around the rocky country as well as before but that's fine, it didn't buy it for that.

Going from the Polaris 26" PXT Tires which are really 24.5" to 28.5" tires did change the gearing enough I feel it, especially with the crew full of people. I would tend to think that work out the 570 pretty good.
My above post was out of order from a bad copy/paste. I like the 900 Much better than my 500, but I was still satisfied with the 500 overall.

Thx everyone I went with the 900 crew last week. We love it but it definitely needs a lift and bigger tires. I've been real careful not to bust up my plastics on the rocks. Now I have to figure out how to post pics
