Thoughts On Painting Heat Shield

Any thoughts on painting the muffler heat shield with hi-temp stove paint? I would think since that paint works good on a wood stove it would surely hold up to the heat from a muffler wouldn't it?

Got to O'riellys and get VHT flameproof paint I think it's good for like 2000F I used it on my motorcycle exhaust it's the only paint that wouldnt burn off
