NOT SURE IF ANYONE HAS EVER DONE THIS BUT I WAS LOOKING FOR A BETTER, QUICKER WAY SO I WHIPPED OUT ALL MY SPECIALTY TOOLS AND ALL THE HEAVY EQUIPMENT AND CAME UP WITH THIS NEW DESIGN. I'M SURE THERE ARE OTHER ADVANTAGES TO THIS THAT I HAVE'NT EVEN DREAMED OF Y E T!

PATENTS COST TOO MUCH SO I THOUGHT I'D JUST SHARE WITH THE WORLD.

I'm a fan of 'quick and easy' myself, but there are a couple of things I would watch out for on your setup. First, that eye bolt is not near as strong as the bolt you took out (grade 8?). I would be worried that the bouncing up and down of the suspension would open up the eye and allow the strap to slip off. Generally, it's a good idea to tie down to either the frame or the axles to let the suspension 'work' while towing. Using the chain holes on the back hitch would certainly work with those kind straps! Also, I can just about guarantee you that those eye bolts will allow just enough play in your ROPS to develop a squeak that will drive you crazy!

When I strap my machine down I go as low as possible as to not load the suspension down. Ibstrap to the rest Reese hitch in the rear and in the front in between the suspension underneath there is about a 2" diameter hole that I use to strap the front instead of pulling down on the machjne I'm basically just pulling it forwards and backwards

Just like hauling a car or a pickup, the number one rule is to not tie down above the suspension.. I've used those eye bolts you've put in the cage, they're not tough enough. one hard bump with the suspension slamming the machine upward and those eyelets will bend and open up like a piece of wire.

it's just not a good location to tie off at. The best spots are to go through the lower A arms front and back so the suspension can still flex- and when it does not loosen your straps or cut them..

It looks like a nice setup, but just not practical or safe! :)

Just weld them shut, then they cannot open.

Probably still not a good idea...

Note: Capacities listed are for vertical lifting only. Eyebolts with shoulder can be used for angular lifting up to 45°, but the capacity will be significantly reduced. For example, when lifting a 1,000 lb. load at a 45° angle, you must choose an eyebolt with a capacity of at least 5,600 lbs. For angular lifting, we recommend using hoist rings. Eyebolts without shoulder are for vertical lifting only. Never use to lift people or items over people

Hoist Rings are another option (for the trailer, not the Ranger)

Just get a pro-lock for the forward most wheel and use the reese hitch chain holes. Don't over think the simplicity of the job. By the by we are just making suggestions to help you!
