Polaris Ranger EV LSV = 1750 #s
Aluma UT-10 Trailer = 700 #s Has 4 welded tie down loops, 2 each side and front swivel clevis in floor just behind storage box.
Aluma now makes a UT 12 and a UT 14. If these were available at the time I would have bought the 14'.
NOTE 1: EV has a full length skid plate with side wings so impossible to attach tie downs to frame & I will not attach to suspension
NOTE 2: Trailer side tie down loops are at position of tires so I can not run straps underneath vehicle (as I wanted to).
NOTE 3:
ALWAYS TRAILER IN NEUTRAL WITH PARKING BRAKE ON. (prevents damage to diff/transmission/transfer case).
1. Place transmission in NEUTRAL and Parking Brake ON.
2. Attach winch to front swivel clevis and compress front suspension slightly to lock down front. Lock winch.
3. Attach additional 2 1/2" ratcheting straps to front side tie down loops, pass through front bumper then over top and attach to front swivel clevis (be careful not to allow brush guard or sharp welds to chafe strap).
4. Loop fore and aft side ratcheting straps through ROPS side restraint and attach both ends to a trailer side tie down loop, respectively. (prevents fore and aft movement). I tie ends of straps off to prevent fraying in the wind while towing.
5. Attach rubber bungee straps to rear frame support and crisscross to side trailer tie down loops, wrapping around ball hitch. This allows minimal rear suspension movement to relieve stress and harmonics. I would not do this IF I had a way to lock down rear I.e. crisscross ratchet straps underneath with frame attachment (cannot do due to side tie down loop position and full skid plate). I have seen the positive trailer to rear hitch mount but can not use on my trailer as the sliding ramp is stored underneath rear trailer floor.
I tow with a Chevy Tahoe Hybrid (6.0L V8) with no porposing or sway up to 75 MPH over long distance on highway and on unimproved roads. I had to use a 4" lowered ball hitch on 4x4 Tahoe Hybrid to get the proper tongue weight. Trailer has no brakes.
