I've run 28" Zillas stock and they did fine. Tad close but didn't rub.

There's a fine line between clearing 27" and 28" tires. So close that something as benign as wheel offset and how much weight is in the machine (and how much suspension travel) will make a difference. You can count on clearing a 27" tire, but if the tire is a TRUE 28", it's gonna be very close to rubbing without a lift.

I know that my zillas on my Atv run short. Measure the 28" zillas and see what the actual height is. I bet it is close to 27".

Yeah, that's kind of what I thought. Most people have reported rubbing with a TRUE 28" tall tire and no lift. Crews are even more susceptible to rubbing because of the additional weight.

Ok thanks guys is there any pics with no lift and 27s
Here's my previous post on the "Show us your tires thread"

Just got my Ranger on Monday (2015 900 XP), and put the tires/wheels on yesterday.
Wheels: 14x7 MSA M20 Kore
Tires: Maxxis Zilla; 27x10-14 (Front) & 27x12-14 (Rear)

Just joined this forum last week, as I was searching for days on end of what tire/wheel combo I wanted to get... Really wanted to know if at stock height w/ no lift of forward a-arms, how far would the 27" tires stick out. So I will post this info. here in hopes of anyone else looking for this info. will find it.

The Zillas with the netural offset wheel (3.5+3.5 on the Kores) protrude right at 2" outside the front fender well.
As the stock 12" wheels that come on a standard 900 XP are 4+2 on the front and 5+3 for the rear, a normal after market wheel with a offset of 4+3 would figure to be sticking out about 1" from the fender well more/less with the same tires.

As I haven't even had a chance to get my Ranger in the mud yet, the jury is still out on just how much mud I can expect to inside the cab area.... but if it does become a problem, I plan on getting aluminum fender flares.

Note that I have taken it out through the mud since that post, and I will be installing the aluminum fender flares this weekend, since the tires stick out just enough to throw mud on either side in the cab... just something to keep in mind if you're looking at new wheels as well.

***Edit***
As far as the diameter, yes the Zillas do run a bit smaller than advertised, but keep in mind... you go larger, you also go wider.

If you just want to clear 28s go with forward arms. You can clear up to 30s then with no lift.
