I'm finally getting around to installing my new TPS, in hopes that my coughing/choking Ranger will be back to normal after the replacement. I backprobed (with a voltmeter) the harness where the yellow wire goes in. My black probe, I grounded. I turned on the key (not starting the Ranger), and begin analyzing the numbers.
Right off the bat, it was at a very high .91V. I started backing out the screw, and got it down to .79V. Unfortunately, the screw is all the way backed out and the numbers aren't dropping any. I need to get it down to .66V, since I have a 2006 XP.
So...I'm hoping baxy or demarko or anyone else might be able to give me some pointers. Why can't I get it below .79V? The manual claims that if I back it all the way out, it should be at .58V. To make the voltage drop, should I be backing OUT the screw or going IN with it?
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks,
Gary
