I out the nerf bars on my Ranger and loss some ground clearance on the sides. I have been having a tough time on what to do to get this back. I thought larger tires like 28" then 2" lift but after thinking about it won't these larger tires and higher center of gravity effect trail riding? This Ranger will 85% be used for forestry roads and dirt/mud logging trails. Would I be better suited with a 27" tire for this type of riding? Need advise of the big tire guys:)

Also curious is a specific tire will be much better in gravel than others due to the forestry roads I travel. Directional or Jon directional pattern works best?

Larger tires do affect your C.O.G., but the trade is typically worth it unless you are constantly in EXTREMELY off-camber situations. We have a lot of that around here, but also have a lot of large rocks and deep ruts, so balancing the need for larger tires and the C.O.G. effects are important. I feel that a 28" tire and 2" lift are a good balance and that is exactly what I ran on my '06 XP for MANY years until I sold it last spring.

Unless you're a deep mudder guy, I'd stay away from directional tires and go with something like the Bighorn, Roctane, or Motoclaw tires. Tread patterns like those are very versatile.

I am contiating a 27" or a 28" with 2" lift. My gut tells me to go 28" because I feel with a 27" I will still be lacking on ground clearance and a 2" lift on a 27" tire will not look good in my opinion. That being said I also don't want a Monster Ranger in the garage too.

It's a 570 full size. Don't know much about the forward a-arms. Do they lift or just push the front wheels forward to clear? What brand do you sugg suggest? A 2" lift at a later date is not an issue?

They push the arms forward to allow for larger tires, adding a 2" lift down the road won't be a problem either. Just an FYI, with SATV forward arms and a 2" I was able to clear 30" tires. It wasn't crazy high either.

A 2" lift will clear 27" on the 570. You'll be very close to rubbing with 28" and no forward A-arms. Maybe some other 570 owners with 28's can confirm the fit and necessary mod's.

Is this what you are referring to:

Polaris Ranger Fullsize 570/900 High Clearance Forward Offset A-Arms : Polaris : Ranger Fullsize : 570 (2015+) : A-Arms

I see it shows an additional 1.5" lift if I am reading it correctly. If I put these on the front wouldn't the machine not be level anymore since nothing is on the rear except stock equipment or am I missing something?

Actually it says, "1.5" additional clearance". It's referring to the forward offset of 1.5", thus the additional clearance. That's accomplished by moving the center point of the wheel forward, giving you the additional room between the back of the tire and body.

The SATV arms are very nice they allow you to adjust the camber to whatever you want it to be. It also is a very nice kit comes with everything you need. Adding a lift down the road would be just as easy as adding it to a stock machine. You can also change you shock mounting location and add a little bit of lift maybe a inch or so. This is a pic of a 900 with the SATV arms and 30" bighorns no lift.

On my full size 800 I went with 14" x 27" D.O.T Black Diamond XTR's. Moved the shock mounts to accommodate the required clearance which in combination added close to a couple inches of ground clearance. I don't care for the tires as the machine now seems "squirrelly" especially with change of center gravity. I think when I change the tires out it will help considerably. Also the ride became stiffer.

Do forward A Arms maintain the smooth ride as opposed to moving the shocks which cause a stiffer ride?

Yes, if you run the shocks in the inner position.

Hope the OP doesn't mind my questions.

So forward A arm will allow me to move the shocks out to the factory setting? Probably a dumb question but what are the pro's / con's of the Forward Arms? Do they widen the spread of the front wheels?

You can mount your shocks in our outboard with stock arms, forward arms aren't required. Look at the first page, I described what forward arms do.

Out of curiosity what is the reason for two shock locations on the Ranger and why does the factory set them on the inside every time it seems?

What can you do for a midsize 570 for forward arms and getting a little lift?

Inboard if I remember correctly. The shock locations are to help stiffen/soften the suspension. The inner shock mount gives it a better ride the putter stiffens it up a bit and adds a small bit of lift.
