newb question I just bought a 2015 ranger crew 900, and was curious if it would be ok to haul it with a single axle trailer with a axle rating of 3500 lbs? Im looking at a 14 foot utility trailer, just wanted to make sure it would be ok? thanks in advance.

Yeap, it will be fine. I haul my RXR4XP, a CRF250X, CRF100F, KLX110, and a CRF50F (all at the same time) on a single 3500# axle that is almost 20 years old and has been all over the eastern US........and the axle is still equipped with the original bearings. It has also hauled a small 2800# tractor numerous times, among other things.

Don't make the mistake I did and buy a trailer that's "just going to work". I bought a 16' for my crew first but then found out I was way short after purchasing a tandem axle Bosski trailer, ended up with a 20'. Plan ahead and buy what you "think" you might need and save yourself a headache, plus you'll make more friends hauling their stuff around. lol

I built this 12' tilt bed a few years ago for lawn equipment. The pivot point doesn't work with the crew, it starts tipping forward before rear wheels hit the back of the trailer. I'd feel better pulling a tandem axle though.

Where are you located? Just curious cuz I bought a 6x12 tilt trailer with the same axle as you (years before I bought my ranger to haul firewood) one thing I highly recommend you checking before buying a TILT trailer is check the pivot point. Mine pivots much to far back which makes it seem like I have to drive up a mountain if I were to haul mine on there. The farther forward the tilt pivot point is the less of a steep angle to load it. I haul mine on my 16ft car trailer because of the rear engine and the steepness of loading it on my 12ft trailer. I like my car trailer cuz its nice and low as well it is a tilt but pivots way in the front and is barely an uphill load.

I'm southern Minnesota.

I built this trailer myself with just an idea in my head. If you can notice on the side, the front and rear side gates hinge down. I built it this way to side load 4 wheelers if i ever needed. I have a set of aluminum ramps that I can leave bed in position, and load without tilt for the longer crew.

This is my 14'x77" folding gate trailer specifically for a 900 Ranger crew. Room for storage boxes and still tows forward at legal speeds with no sway. For my use, the size and cost of an additional 2 feet of trailer is not necessary. One storage box is secured to the trailer and the other can be moved to the Ranger bed for trail necessities.

I went with a 14' flat bed because I thought I could use the extra two feet, but to honest I wish I would have just bought the 12'.

I have a 12ft and wish I had a 14ft trailer. Mine has a bump rail in the front though which limits how far forward I can load it. I suppose if that wasn't there then I would be a little happier but still wish it was 14ft in length. That's why I choose to use my car trailer at 16ft

I've seen so many people post "I wish I had gotten one 2 feet longer" that I always tell people to calculate what you think you need, then add another 2 feet. It typically doesn't cost mush at all to get one just a little bigger, but trying to trade up to a larger one after having bought one too short is a hassle.

I have a 20' car hauler that I tow it on most of the time.....The other times I use a tandem axle 12' trailer. The problem with the 12' trailer is I have to back the Ranger on because it has a 4' gate on the back of it. If it had a bifold gate in the rear and I could pull my Ranger on forward facing I would use it more.

Bought a 16' x 76" 3.5k single axle trailer to haul the 900 crew and daughters z90 on. No problems with the weight and does 80 no problem. Reason behind getting a single axle is because there is 2 less tires to deal with and I can still move it by hand of needed. Only regret I have is that I didn't get it a bit wider(wanted to do the Super ATV 6" kit that puts the ranger to wide, after I already bought the trailer), but other than that I am happy with it.
